cuz if i gotta do allllll of this for that imma just probs not do it at this point
I understand. It becomes second nature after a while, and if the easier path through the game is what makes it fun . . . then I think it is worth it. :)
Big thing is not having access to Online Mode while modded files are in play. :/
Hexington table, offline, gigagib. Also, the guy who posted that large wall just gave you a lot of BS to do before hand you don't need to listen to if you just want items... Maybe if you are running an actual mod.
Literally just download Hexington's CE table, drop one file in the game folder, launch with that file, run CE, gigagib whatever items you want (these are tested/proven safe), save, exit, launch normally. In less than 5 minutes you can have every weapon, armor, cookbook, map, wetblade, rune, weapon upgrade, etc. Then exit and go online.
Most of the people here are uninformed.
The difference between modding for an advantage and cheating for one is subject to dispute based on the subjective feelings of the disputer.
This is objectively wrong, but keep fear mongering.
Yes, I am referring to actually running a persistent mod. I actually don't know the risks of directly altering saved game data files, nor what safeguards EAC may have in place. It is also hard to predict what they may do in the future regarding that sort of activity, especially as it can impact Online Play.
So, you are correct, I am uninformed as regards file editing vs using actual mods. Thank you for clarifying. :)
Welcome. I figured as that seems more related to mods/open world. Whereas the OP just wanted to skirt the word cheat and spawn 999 of all items.
Im not trying to fearmonger but I try to be real. And it is easy to mess this up if you dont know exactly what you are doing.
You're not wrong here, Jasmine. File editing and modding are certainly not for the faint of heart nor to be undertaken lightly and without some research.
My philosophy when modding a game that does not support modding is to just accept that I may lose my saves or even access to the game. Basically, if I could not mod the game, I would not play at all. So, for me, the risk is worth it.
I mod Elden Ring because my hardware is to old and slow and I am to old and slow to play without some help. :)
the fact you can't understand what is being said here... just lol... just because something is described as a "mod" doesn't mean it can't be a cheat.
if you download a "mod" that allows you to give yourself 999/999 of everything in the game, that is a cheat. this isn't up for debate.
anything that has an objective impact on the game - such as getting items out of nowhere - is a cheat.
is changing your appearance through a mod a cheat?
yes, if its used in multiplayer, its very much a cheat, because it disguises your gear, which gives you an advantage in pvp.
if used in solo? no, its not a cheat, because nobody - not even the game - is affected by a visual mod, because the AI doesn't need to see you in order to calculate its next move... that being said, any and all mods will get you banned if used online.
you've been warned. do what you will.
