Larval Tear
So I've been searching everywhere and have run out of all my Larval Tears.
I used them since this is my 1st play through and wondered is there's another way to get them?
I understand the builds a lot better with soft cap vs. hard cap on attributes.
Or should I wait till I beat the game?

Did you also grab the larval tears in the DLC, if you have it?

I didn't understand that they were limited so I used many of them to set my strength to 50, then 60, 70 then back to 50 and 66 this time not understanding that there was a soft cap.
I know now...

Lol poor soul. At least you don't have to use a larval tear to change appearance xD

We all make mistakes on our first playthrough, especially if you're new to this genre, so don't worry about it. Even I messed up plenty, and I've been playing these games since the original Demon's Souls.

Yeah really, it's my first playthrough where I got over a hundred hours on it and thought the merchant would keep selling them so I was trying different stats between Magic strength and not realizing that these were limited but at least I know now

Stones don't respawn either. When in doubt, be frugal

Sad to break it to you but for a pure strength build you want 66STR if you are two-handing a weapon

You get +50% more strength scaling on your stat when you use two hands for a weapon, so 66 + 33 = 99

And as the stat is capped at 99 going over 66 Strength for a two-handing build you essentially lose any and all points you'd put to it after 66 when two-handing

My highest stats are 66 str and 70 or 71 vigor atm, but if the soft cap is 60 then I only need them at 60 I think.

That build looks solid
And even though the 60-71 Vig is not that much, it will help.

Only thing I'd invest those 11 points instead would be Endurance if it meant you could ditch an Arsenal Charm for some more damage or negation.

Or maybe Faith if you'd find a worthy to cast spell, but probably not.

Don't sweat it dude, you're doing good

I just got 3 more in the DLC area, I will keep my highest stats at 60 for now and focus on other attributes that I need such as faith and dex for other 2 handed weapons.
So the soft cap is all 60, hard cap is 99 right?
