PC stuttering/lagging
Hello guys,
I wanted to finally try out this game, however the pc experience is abysmal. My pc is decent enough for the game (or so i think at least):

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9750HF CPU @ 2.60GHz 2.59 GHz
RTX 2060
32GB ram

Windows 11

But i kept getting 2-3s stutters every so often. After the patch that dropped 2 days ago im unable to play, here is my experience:
https://streamable.com/41026i

I tried basically everything - buying a new pad (bluetooth/usb), using m&k, doing all the fixes on the internet (nvidia control panel, windows game settings, power plan and all that stuff) - no success.

I really like the game but its just too painful to play rn. Id be very grateful for any tips to solve this. Thanks.

Check if game has ray tracing turn on by default just play on low with grass med or high..Also depends does you have HDD or SSD and CPU is not great ..

I think definitely something is turned on in background and bugging because I see on yt gameplay with same laptop as your and game runs fine like 50+ FPS https://youtu.be/bVcCNQ199Ug?si=Ajk-qkrRJcJOEYmX definitely check drivers and task manager for info what is going on

Thre's nothing to do with Ray Tracing... A lot of people are suffering with performance issues, even with RT disabled , even in High end machines with everything on LOW. Only FROM software can fix this bad optimization in the updates....

I play on high end on max and there is no problem only zone that is lags is ancient ruin for 5sec near giant and 2nd phase start of Radahn with him in air apart from that is good but he has like 10sec not stuttering it's like freeze I'm sure that is not fromsoftware issues and it's in castle Morne do you see his video it's like 10sec freeze that is not game problem

I tried every setting combination with raytracing both on and off.
Nothing running in the background, drivers are all up to date.

Playing on the SSD drive.

That I don't have idea what is going on ,dunno what can cause it,looks like your FPS is fine near 55-60 before freeze ..Do you play online or offline maybe anticheat could cause it, fromsoftware said that on last update that mouse applications are causing performance issues

I play offline to reduce any load on the game. My mouse is as basic as it gets to be - no apps whatsoever.

It works the same with both m&k, usb pad and bluetooth pad, so i guess its not the root of the problem.

As you mentioned, the game runs just fine in between the lags, but I dunno whats causing them.

Is there any other way to disable the anticheat soft? Maybe that's the issue

set eldenring.exe to run as admin, and star_protected_game.exe as admin and disable fullscreen optimisation. it helped me, it's all anticheat's fault, when it's off the game works perfectly

Hi, i've been having this issue since launch , tried ecore schenanigans, changing settings, caching, etc etc, random freezes that are almost a couple of seconds long with a pc that should be eating this game on max settings without issue.

What managed to fix it for me is that i had Oculus services that were scanning for hardware changes every 5-10 minutes 'Oculus VR Runtime Service', and 'Oculus VR Library Service', and a dodgy 'Logitech lamp array' service.

Using task manager, i opened up the services window, found and stopped all three services and put them to 'disabled', after a restart i haven't had a single freeze.

Try disabling steam overlay while in game. I found that resolved 95% of my freeze ups. Not 100%, but definitely 95%.
