Fingerprint has higher elemental def, very high elemental def, combined with 40+ END it makes tanking bosses a breeze, even the final DLC boss really struggles
Vendigris has higher guard, but the lower elemental def can really hamper you vs bosses that lots have elemental damage, the chip damage can become too much. The fingerprint shield has some of the best elemental def of any shield, and the 2nd best guard, chip damage and stamina is not a huge issue.
I'd also like to mention the Dragon Towershield, it weighs much much less then both the above mentioned shields and has the 3rd best guard of 77, while having ok elemental defence.
For all three shields I run 50 END and the +3 Stamina talisman, even in PvP, where shields are notoriously limp ♥♥♥♥, I manage to guard against even the most aggressive meta slaves, and in PvE, it's a breeze to guard NG+ DLC bosses.
Combine the shields with Shabriris Talisman to draw aggro away from your buddies for a great co-op build.
I'll probably hold on to Finger since Ive defeated every boss except Radahn, afterwards however, and solely for fashion reasons, I'll switch to Moore's...I'll miss that poor guy
IMO, with large enough FP pool, fingerprint shield becomes strictly better than Verdigris due to FP being a non issue for maintaining barricade. Even at minimum FP, you can use barricade quite a bit.
