game goes to a grey screen with elden ring curser after i start it
i started the game after downloading the patches today and now for some reason instead of seeing bandainamco and fromsoft i just see a grey screen with nothing else but the normal cursor in elden ring. it happened after i downloaded the july 4th patch notes. my friend was also getting terrible framerate after he downloaded them. ive had 280 hours without anything other than a few crashes. can anyone help or is it the upd fault? ive tried everything ive read online

Verifying file integrity on steam fixed the issue for me. Good luck y'all.

i got it to work by verifying the file integrity a few times. after like the thrid try it found a corrupt file and redownloaded it
