The ending is pretty underwhelming though, especially compared to Ringed City and Old Hunters.
If there was another DLC it would be ok, but as it is it feels weird going back into the main game. It has no impact on the main game at all which is kind of disappointing.
But the lore itself in the DLC was interesting. We learned a lot about Marika and her origins. Furthermore, we now know that the greater will has long left the Lands between and all the commands of the two fingers after this event may all be lies.
All in the backdrop of a grrm incest story, so incestuous, one of them had 4 babies with themselves.
This all is a paper thin excuse for 100 boss fights, 80 of them reskinned versions of other bosses, including the final one of the dlc.
Also, this Radahn is visually the least Fromsoft like boss I can imagine (he sorta reminds me of the Doom Marine), which felt sooo wrong. Btw. in what 1000 year voyage of compassion do I get curbstomped by a roided out Frankenstein's monster?
Sorry, had to vent there for a sec, forgive me. :)
However, are you sure you found every item in the game?
For example, a lot of info on Marika's background can be found, e.g., in the "Shaman Village" location.
Also, the main DLC story is pretty much unusually explicitly laid out to you by the dialogues with Ansbach.
But yeah. Between Miquella and Radahn dying without any fanfare, the final cutscene being nothing but a memory, and every single NPC in the DLC ending up dead (Tholier and Asbach died anyway despite me not summoning them for the Radahn fight), and the original NPCs at the roundtable not acknowledging the DLC in any way, I was basically left with nobody to talk to about it but myself (and other players of course) lol
Vaati has good production values, he's not exactly coming up with any new ideas himself. He's the dummy that started the "Erdtree is a parasite!" take that everyone ran with.
He's like a Fromsoftware Wikipedia taking people's takes from Reddit and elsewhere and giving no credit. We need less youtubers like him.
Also Elden Ring's base game lore is great, but the world of Dark Souls is pretty iconic and the best representation of grimdark in video game history. Elden Ring borders more on folklore a lot of the time.
