Ranni quest soft lock?

this is my first playthrough of the game and was doing the Ranni quest line unitl i had to speak to blaidd in siofra river. but he never spawned there and now i cant continue the quest. he also didnt spawn when i had to speak to the npcs in rannis tower. anyone know how to fix this?

Have you accessed Altus Plateau? If so, he won't be in the underground area. He'll be somewhere in Caelid (it could be an area you already explored).

Without more details on your progress through the quest lines, it would be hard to predict. Were you following a 'build guide' (Different from a quest progression guide)?

That NONE of the 3 NPCs that were supposed to be at the bottom of Ranni's tower showed up is not a good sign.

blaidd isn't needed to do her quest line.

yeah i know. i searched up the quest line after i talked to the npcs and noticed that blaidd didnt spawn in the tower so im not sure if its fixable. might have to just do the quest in NG+

It may not be a terminal problem. Blaidd is supposed to be fought at the end of Ranni's quest line and I am not sure what impact Blaidd not being at the river at this time would have. It is all very strange and I think ER quest lines are MUCH more fragile than BG3 quest lines.

Doing a fresh run through at this time as well, so will see what happens at the meeting at the bottom of the tower. :)

Is it possible that he's already at the festival if he advanced to Altus? I'm thinking that's it but I could be wrong

Oh, If you've done Radahn, he won't appear at Sofria River. You should be good to progress to the crater location

Sofria river is in the crater is it not?

Sofria is a large location that includes places like the Ancestral woods, the eternal city, and the river well (among others). Blaidd was supposed to meet you in Sofria from the Limgrave access point - the super long elevator ride down by the minor erdtree.

There's a plot element that prevents him from meeting you on the way to retrieve the special object for Ranni that you get from the crater access point. To my recollection, you won't meet Blaidd again until the end of the quest.
