Aberrant sorceries are terrible and force you to wear Alberich set (awful armor) in order to do something.
Now the perfume bottles. They are still amazing to have a 0 mana elemental damage source to kill certain pesky monsters and have some versatility against bosses, every "swing" of the light melee attacks cost little stamina and the heavy attacks are basically a spammable AOE of wichever element you pick. Rolling sparks really needed some adjustements but still is a fully spammable multi hit chain of explosions like Rykard rancor for little mana and extremly buffable with the perfumer talisman as you OP said, shard of Alexander, fire crystaline tear and flame grant me strength....they still rock!.
Still deals about 7k damage when up close, there are several clips of it just obliterating bosses, and then adding bleed buildup. all AI doesnt know how to dodge it, only players do.
You said it yourself lol, it kills the final boss of the game in 4 casts. Nothing really saves you at like NG+7 so it may not be the best idea to balance NG0 off of it.
Everyone went nuts after the first video of a dude killing the last boss with it. Not just was a NG-0 and the dude was fully buffed in every way possible, he used one of the few weakness the last boss have in both phases hence the ludicrous damage. So.....cringe aside after wiping 4 hours during the first days myself in order to get the last boss down and without a clue about his real weakness (used rot because he loves it in Caelid) to watch a dude deleting him with a single spell there is nothing wrong with the thorns.
Haven't played around with perfumes much but people said smithscript weapons were bad and they are literally the best weapon class in the game even after a small AR nerf.
Tips for most builds not much is bad buffed 4 talismans deep, with optimal scaling stats, and 2 tear support.
Thats not even talking about external buffs you can stack.
I really wish we could access the DLC a lot earlier as a lot of the gear in the DLC can be core to a build (perfume bottles for example)
Kinda of stupid looking all running around the boss in circles and then just throwing shiner on your shoes that does over 10k damage to the boss in a single hit.
It will still work great on bosses that are large or stretched out, like EB, Tree spirits, Fire Giant, etc.
Like have you tried perfume talisman, elemental talisman, axe talisman, plus winged talismans?
Then charged tear, elemental tear.
Then just bloodhound step around and hold r2?
If winged doesn't work replace with axe talisman.
Feels like it should, if it doesn't.
