Volcano Manor Bug?
Before i list the issue , let it be known that im currently playing the game using the seamless co-op mod bc i want to play with my brother and i also have more progress on here , so it very well may be that the mod is causing the bug but im not sure as everything ive done up to this point has been flawless and ive looked up the issue and multiple people who weren't using the mod also faced it.

Anyway , i just reached volcano manor and accepted Tanitha's quest so go and kill other tarnished , she sends me to kill Istvan and i do , however, multiple things go wrong when i do , such as: not getting his armor set , or talking to Tanitha does nothing as she keeps telling me to read the letter (which i did) and to kill the target (to which i also did again) & for whatever reason , whenever i kill Istvan , it displays the bow and incantation tutorial screens that you see when you first use those 2 weapons for the 1st time but ive of course gotten those long ago.

Ive tried doing multiple things , sitting at a grace , killing him again , talking to everyone , restarting the game , even using a ever so slightly older save and redoing the first part of the quest and nothing.

I would try to do the quest on the main version of the game to see if that's the issue but ive currently got a little over 20+ hours of progress more on the coop version and i just cant re-do all that again atm, i just want to get to the dlc.

Does anyone know what might be going on?

the mod is really buggy when it comes to invading npcs and npcs teleporting you. Best solution is to do those quests on your own.

i did do it on my own since my bro was offline , so yeah its probably just the mod. Even if i did that part on the main file it wouldnt matter anyway since progression isnt saved between that and coop.

I'm having the same issue but if you want to go the longer path then you could follow what the Wiki says and go through the illusory wall.

I was able to transfer my co-op save to vanilla and was finally able to progress it since the co-op version makes invasions literally impossible

How did you make the transfer? I tried doing it just a little bit ago, and couldn't figure it out.

I followed this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esxba5OI5GM&t=292s , however you can skip from 2:35 - 5:20 as that part of the video is no longer needed with the update

That was the video I followed, except I was confused when he was talking about deleting the modded items as I couldn't find them in the Cheat Table. So do you mean that the section of the video that is 2:35 through to 5:20 is no longer needed? Or that that part of the video is the only one needed?

It seems like that part of the video isnt needed anymore , meaning you can just swap the files. the game just deletes those modded items from your inventory and your good to go.

Let me make sure I understand you before completely ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ everything up.

All I have to do is rename my modded save files (the .co2 ones) in Elden Ring's appdata folder (Windows + R -> %appdata% -> Elden Ring) back to the vanilla ones (the .sl2)

Is that what you are saying? Or is there something I'm missing?
you shouldnt have to rename anything , towards the end of the guide , there's a program for you to download that lets you copy your co-op file to your vanilla games file. That's pretty much the only thing you have to do.

The only time i had to rename my files was when i was transferring my vanilla save to the seamless co-op version , but not vice versa

all the program does is simply makes a copy of your co-op version character and just puts it in the main game on a different slot , so nothing gets erased , and since the items will have been deleted as well , you wont be banned either
