Halberd tips
been using the nightrider glaive and i like it. Unfortunately a consistent problem i've been having using it is i am very often running to 0 stamina when using it, even after just a couple attacks, leaving me vulnerable and unable to roll. Theres so many instances whered if i want to keep my stamina, id have to let a free attack go and let an enemy's posture bar reset, which extends the fight.

Should I invest in more endurance or stamina recovery speed?

Could be worse, but could be better. The Nightrider Glaive hits hard, so try focusing on managing your stamina bar and leaving a little left to roll after attacking. It takes some practice, but that's part of the game. Better stamina regen is always good though.

Both will help you.

Recovery if you don't want to allocate points.

Have you noticed you can go below 0 endurance, meaning recovery of any takes longer than as if from 0. Seems if you have a sliver, that'll left you go one hit that takes you below 0.

So recovery speed will help for that, as well as bar refill as normal, you can't do anything with your weapon in that state.

There's also a turtle shield that gives you stamina Regen, you can wear it on your back if you 2 hand halberds.

More points is more equip weight too. Heavier armor, or freeing you from iron jar or other weight improvers.

Thats stamina conservation. YES. let it go. You can risk it, you know the boss has a big opening coming, you know a poise break is coming, you know you can take the hit...etc then take the risk.

enemy posture wont get reset instantly, you can def regain like half your stamina, then continue and eventually get the poise. Or regain a very small amount, but time a charge heavy attack( will prob get the break if the rest of the time was also spent smashing good poise). another option is throwing knife, just to keep the poise bar busy while there is distance, or rest... but even w out that, just continue frequent counters, the poise break will come.

interms of short term gains, stamina recovery speed will beat adding points in endurance.
In the long run, when you want heavy armor and heavy weapon.... def invest in more endurance.

I would recommend the Repeating thrust AoW and later Bloodtax for nightrider glaive, infact BT on nightglaive was how I beat malenia in my first playthrough. Both AoWs do great damage, very strong stagger per hit and the poise damage appears to be based on the weapon IIRC it practically stunlocked the omens below the capital. Since its 4 one handed thrusts its great for maximizing the reach of your halberd, also just plain stylish to use out of a dodge. Rthrust is much cheaper at 7fp per use and is available at limgrave. BT is from latergame, with bloodflame blade applies bleed like noones business, and heals you for 12%max hp + 140.

thanks for the advice fellas, ill def get the twin turtle talisman and play with blood tax/repeat thrust a bit, ive mostly been using war cry for that nasty altered r2+spear talisman, but it does come with a very heavy stamina cost. Might have a friend drop a second glaive so i can switch them out
