the abyssal woods is a total letdown
i first step foot in the area on night time, raining reading "don't let em see" "run" making my heart race, only to introduce me a call of duty stealth section, where the "monsters" are walking in scripted path sequence

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ really? all that build up walking through a creepy forest, in the dark, raining thinking there is scary monster walking in the area freely, only for a scripted sequence!?

There's a """"legacy dungeon"""" (it's 20 minutes long with enemies you've already seen) near the end of it, but it is genuinely worth it for the boss at the end. The abyssal woods boss is one of the main DLC bosses and he's easily one of the coolest fights added.

It's the one thing that makes the woods worth it, do your best to find it, it's a big ass mansion, it's somewhat hard to miss.

I thought it was a neat little detour but yeah, it definitely feels like one of the emptier areas. They should've let you kill the eyeball dudes normally after killing the boss, and populated the forest more.

There are frenzy enemies they could've just lifted from the base game, even. It's not like the DLC's a stranger to that, lol.

EDIT: They could've lifted the invisible enemies idea from DS2's shaded woods, even. Just make some messmer dudes mostly transparent or something, I dunno.
