"Aged Ones" are the hardest enemy in the game

you can f off with anything else, ive breezed through most of the DLC bosses but i cant get past this fking lake without these things chasing me to death

They don't respawn. Just practice parrying on them and you only have to kill like 6 to walk freely in the area. Grab either Carian Retaliation from Pidia, Buckler from Gostoc, or Golden Parry from the scarab outside the gates of the Capital in Altus, and practice on one until you get the timing right, and then just despawn the rest.

It takes maybe 5 minutes of practice then another 10 minutes to despawn them all.

In terms of timing, I've found it works best to press the parry button as soon as the lantern raises his wand or whatever.

the parry breaks the magical shield encasing them, Now you just hit them or perform a critical while they're staggered from the parry

ah...i was under the assumption they didn't "take damage" ... I'll probably go back later then and finish them off

Dont hug them, keep some distance so they inmediatly try to grab you after the teleport.

I faced them during the first expansion day or so.....i tried EVERYTHING (and i have every possible tool to hurt people) then i decided to parry their only move. If you dont kill them with the riposte keep murdering them with melee or whatever.

You can parry them and kill them. Not easy but possible and you even get rewards for that.
Or you can use an ash of war called Assassing Gambit, make yourself invisible for 30 seconds and run in front of them without worring. You can refresh the skill at any time even in front of enemy so it can last nearly forever. You still won't be able to damage them without a parry though.

Just use the cheapest and the lightest weapon like a dagger for you secondary weapon just to have Assassing Gambit on you. It's a very cool Skill that lets you speed run some of the most difficult parts of the game and not just this part. Like the tree leading to Malenia's castle.

Wrong, they all say "Parry" "Try Parrying" ... ive done that, twice, and nothing happens...just a normal parry animation
