Do any base-game questlines matter for the DLC?
Other than defeating Mogh to access it... Do any base-game questlines matter? I have access to Mogh right now, and I'm more-or-less a high enough level to kill him, but I don't want to do that if there are quests or characters whose questlines get screwed up that way.

Nope.

They haven't really linked anything from the base game. Just enjoy your scenic walks and cinema fights.

Very nice. I'm legit trying to choose between my strength and ex builds, and my Strength build is about half-way through the Mountaintops (and about to enter the Haligtree) while my Dex build just entered Liurnia, and I wanted to know if I could just sprint through ♥♥♥♥ to get my Dex build ready or... weh. Either way, this helps, thanks!

Nothing matters in the DLC. It has no effect on the base game and the base game has no effect on it. They ran out of time if you datamine all the things they were going to do with it, cut dialogue with voice files, cut endings, even the gameplay trailers have ingame cutscenes that aren't in the DLC but the audio is still there in the files. I don't see them updating it but if they do that'd be nice. I remember when the base game had unfinished quests and they updated it.
I'd like them to actually finish some base game quest lines before lol. Like the "ending" of the volcano manor is stupid

I think you have to beat Radahn too (Ranni's quest) in the base game. Other than that you don't have to worry about other quests

Other than the prerequisites to start the DLC, no. IMO it was a missed opportunity to further explore base game characters, would of loved to see some more Melina, honestly feels extremely weird not to hear a peep from her even though she's still alive.
