Can someone tell me what the point of the Lamenter form is?

Dragon Form is pretty obvious given that it buffs your dragon incantations and such. But I don't really understand what the point of the Lamenter form is supposed to be? Don't get me wrong, I love it, and I think it looks very cool. I just don't really understand where it'd be applicable, or why you'd want to use it outside of it looking cool. You get plus 8 Arcane, which is nice, but nothing great, you get some damage resistance I believe, but not much. Someone told me you get a buff if Madness procs near you? Or if you proc madness maybe? Which is cool, but does that mean you're supposed to use the Lamenter form for a Madness build or? Again. I just have a lot of questions and can't really see what you're supposed to use this form for, or why you'd pick it over Dragon Form. Can anyone fill me in here?
