Scarlet rot/bleed was the biggest mistake for this game

The DS series took infinitely more skill to PVP in than this game. 9/10 invasions I find are dual wield scarlet rot/bleed users. With the broken phantom hitboxes that souls has always had, it is the most egregious in this one because status effects proc even if you DIDN'T hit your target. This game is amazing but the PVP is a complete joke compared to DS1-3, which is sad because it was one of my favorite experiences in those games.

Scarlet rot is OK, it's just the lake of rot that's some BS. Bleed however just wasn't thought over very well. Making bleed and frostbite take off a set percentage of health, which mind you is a massive percentage, just isn't good game design, it actively subverts the intended difficulty and trivializes much of the game, even more so if you use Mimic Tear. It is also a plague to PVP and is the center of many cheesy builds that heavily abuse the mechanic in full effect to kill their opponent in record times.

At least with scarlet rot you have time to cure yourself after it procs, bleed just kills you.

Bleed is one of the biggest reasons i don't PVP in Elden Ring, it's just not fun when everyone runs cheesy builds designed to kill you in 2-4 hits. I prefer duels, not slaughters.

Does the new trinket that reduces the effects of the last ailment you took stack with itself? Just wondering if perhaps it was introduced to counter a lot of these pvp issues

the lake of rot isn't that bad literally just run through to the grace before the coffin teleport to astel

the netcode is terrible you don't take dmg but you still get the status effect and if it procs you get stunned or take massive dmg.

is annoying the fact is most pvp duels is basically a battle with the servers other day I spent a whole match not being able to touch a guy in full green armor he was not fat rolling or anything he was just evading and slapping me for big dmg with the rakshasa katana everything even light weapon attacks it was so annoying that I blacklisted him after the fact xD

you will still have to cure the status effect but its so good to have. with the talisman effect active(after curing of course) you can take 1 hefty rot pot to the face without any problems
