Yeah, they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up that ending. Here's to hoping they fix it in patches, but unlikely. :er_sad:

Read Berserk. At least has some similarities to Dark Souls/Elden Ring

It's not suppose to be an "ending" the DLC happens before you become Elden Lord. The Base game ending is still the ending. The DLC is pretty much just another "area to explore" till you go kill Elden Beast.

Yeah maybe, but we just chase Miquela for like 30 hours for him just to appear on the back of (you know who to avoid spoilers) but that's all! he serve 0 purpose to the story...

He's more fleshed out than any other Demigod, purely because he has an entire DLC devoted to him. All the bits of information and lore that From sprinkles in using items and small bits of dialogue paint a picture.

He sacrificed his flesh. He sacrificed his eye, the symbol of his empyrean status. He sacrificed his doubts and vacillations. He sacrificed his love, abandoning an entire half of himself in the deepest pit he could find. All things that must apparently be sacrificed to become a God, as Marika did.

He circumvents the Erd Tree, the Great Runes, the Elden Rune, and the Greater Will. Becomes a God, chooses his Lord and Consort, seeks an Age of Gentleness in which everyone has peace because they all love him, forced by enchantment if need be. He's a Rival dude. You, an Elden Lord Candidate, or an Elden Lord outright, obviously can not allow such a rival.

There is also what we have learned about Marika and the greater will.

What to do? Thank the gods this ordeal is finally over. From Soft MUST move away from the old generation and try to make a much more mature open world game without the annoying and flawed ambitions of ER or go back to simpler Souls formula. Elden Ring is ok, but it's a convoluted mess.

If my eyes roll any harder, I'll get a 7-10 split, and that's no good.

Yeah I didn't really like the ending cutscene. I just ended up doing a different save and build and started playing it again

Play again at RL1

I was hoping there'd be a little more. At least the base game ending cutscenes are top

Lots of evidence that the story was gutted at some point in development. Idk, maybe they'll add back some of the cut or unfinished content like they did with the base game

Really, all i want from an Elden Ring 2 is Elden Ring, but with an actual story with more dynamic and deep quests.
