they did say on twitter that if you have FPS problems turn off Ray tracing. and Git Gud
From changelog:
"We have confirmed a bug where the raytracing settings are automatically enabled if you have previously loaded saved data from previous game versions.
If your framerate is unstable, please check in the 'SYSTEM' > 'Graphics Settings' > 'Raytracing Quality' settings from the title menu or in-game menu to check if it has been unintentionally set to 'ON'. Once set to 'OFF', Ray Tracing will no longer be automatically enabled."
Threads like these are kinda useless without mentioning specs and settings. I've watched several streamers play the game on PC and on PS5 with zero issues. If you have an nVidia card, set the shader cache to max in the nVidia control panel under 3D settings. Worked fine on my old 1080 TI.
For AMD, you may have to deleted the DX12 cache by clicking on your HDD and then use windows cleanup utility. Works fine on my 7900XT.
Of course, RT can tank performance massively, esp. on AMD cards.
If people get it auto enabled, it can be a reason. That doesn't implicate, that's the only reason, though
