ask for help more, people will help
lot of vent posts. ngl, they bug me and i wanted to make my own vent about venting

but there are some folks here who know the game pretty well. instead of saying how X mechanic is garbage design or X people are trash, you could just ask for help and people will help you

plus, you will get less hate back and probably have a less stressful time on the steam forum if you don't start out sh**ing on individuals or the game we like

critique is interesting if it's specific and clear. story and design elements are open to critique ("bad" "garbage" "poorly made" "cheap like a sweatshop shoe" don't really count as critiques, that's just venting) but if the issue is frustration, you really might learn something

i just learned that i can try the frenzy beam on the sunflower because it's faster than a fireball and less likely to miss, but if i had just been like "bad stupid garbage flower made by blind people copy/pasted from other From game" i probably would have just got sh*t on and felt worse about my life choices

Depends on how you ask, most people like helping but not carrying.

Yep, and if people ask politely I for one am always happy to help with as much advice as is needed. :praisesun:

I posted 3 threads asking for help for radahn, and got a total of maybe 3 replies. I asked for help in detail, spelling out which attacks I had issues with, what my load out was, etc. Meanwhile all the git gud threads on fire.

After I beat him, and complained he was unfun, all the pro gamers suddenly comes out spewing rubbish on how I didn't understand his attacks.

I say git gud, but I always say why the boss is dealable. People who say git gud and don't follow up are human garbage.

Nobody really has a good answer other than tank build with status weapon.

An unfortunate number of people seem to have this mentality that summoning is cheating, or dilutes the experience. Or they are truly "Mad Cuz Bad", by refusing to learn from their mistakes or learn the boss' move sets.

I learned messmers move set, but still hated the fight. dodge 10 times, poke him once then dodge 10 more times....

That's the issue. Some other clown in another thread gave the advice of parry, dodge or tank.

Ive given proper advice on him too, which is the most disappointing bit. Like his gravity charge, only dodge after he rises into the air, it'll seem too early, but you'll dodge. Or the meteor sweep, don't have a solution for the initial slash, other than to be well positioned but to avoid the meteors, run left or right, and jump once the first one hits the ground. Etc.

Like git gud at radahn. How? To me he's still a trash boss and you need a lot of rng to beat him. People spew a lot of trash but no one can describe how to counter all the white stuff miquella spews everywhere

Yep, it be that way. However, imagine fighting him 15 more times, you'd probably reach a point where you could fight him with your eyes closed and your gaming chair facing the opposing wall and stand a chance. So long as you make an effort to learn

Granted, no one reasonable would expect the above level of gameplay from the average guy. I am also not going to argue over boss design, but, I say this every time I see a post that says "Unfair" or other similar words. For every attack, there's a way to avoid it.

It is unfair.

This is like playing Sekiro and facing isshin as your first boss.

The entire game trained people to use all sorts of playstyles from shields to blades to colossal swords, then all of a sudden the requirement of endgame boss is just parry him bro.

Can be done is different from is fair.

i guess what you fail to understand is that it is "your issue" , not "the issue" , should you fail to properly read the boss mechanics , it does not necessarily means that the boss is this or that , but you are.

add to that the common bad words to describe your situation (frustration for the most part i suppose) and you got the perfect combo for how people will respond to you.

No it isn't fair, but as much as it's beating a dead horse. That's the point. Fromsoft has never made a souls-like that is fair. Narrative-wise you're always some derivative of just "Some Guy" who rolls on up to playground of better and bigger things than you. You're fighting a literal demigod, with a god on his back.

And that isshin example is a false equivalency, you have to fight many, many bosses before you even start the DLC, let alone fight Radahn. The game didn't train anyone to do anything, each person learned their own style and made their own build to suit their desired character and fights.

amen brother, I've been using Bolt of Gransax for the whole DLC playthrough.
Kinda wanted to go all Lightning build (dex) since I've never tried it and although it was okay, there are waaay enjoyable playstyles for me.

For example the Sunflower was SUPER easy with Bolt of Gransax since in the first phase you had to shoot the head with your skill like 3-4 times?
The second phase required 6 hits and the final phase around 9.

Now picture this, some bloke complained he couldn't beat it and the chance would have it he used the same weapon as I did in his playthrough and he has managed to level it up to +7.
I told him to max it out, throw that Lightning tear to your flask, shove that Lightning scorpion amulet on and just zap that mf plant.

But all he said to that is that he "Doesn't want to cheese the game, he want's to beat it with his SKILL and not by some weakness this boss has" and proceeded to call me all sorts of names how I ruin the fun for googling weaknesses and all that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

As much as we all would love to have people like these put to sleep and maybe just brutally murder them in that sleep? It's just people man.
You'll never EVER get a good experience with someone on the internet in this day and age especially if they are even slightly tilted/angry.
To this day I don't even know if that stupid flower has lightning weakness, but considering it was like the ONLY boss that seemed to recieve some damage from me I suppose it does, but if someone asks for help, literally states that they need to know which weapon to use since all he did use were useless and if you give him exactly what he asks for and calls you names for being a cheap old codger?
Yea, let's wish he'll catch some untreatable illness and move on :^)
No point in trying.

oh, thank you. if the frenzy beam doesn't work, i'll try that

fireballs are high damage but they are so slow and i need to dodge so much that i have just been either missing him, or getting hit because i was shooting instead of dodging

probably easier if i bait the headbutt, or played with a partner who baited the headbutt, but a fast attack should do it. i'm pretty close :)
