Inappropriate Activity Detected?

Playing on steam deck, no mods, but won't let me play online. Verifying integrity of game files did not fix it.

Alright, i'm going to assume you don't have Shadows of the Erdtree. I'm not familiar with steam deck. Can you create/edit files/open the folder with game installed?

I don't have the dlc but yes I can access files.

The problem here is the game is trying to read the non existent DLC files, someone forgot not everyone is going to buy it smh. Try Creating 2 files in the "Game" folder of Elden Ring:
DLC.btd and DLC.bhd and leave them empty.
I think there was another workaround somewhere else too, but i can't find it atm.

The only other option would be to buy the DLC, it fixed the problem for some steam deck players

Haven't attempted yet as I'm mid game, just playing offline for now but I will in a bit.

I have the DLC and this happened to me when I was to be summoned for co-op, perhaps the host didn't have the file and it freaked out?

Create empty txt file "DLC.bdt" in game folder and u get this warning never )

I went out for a smoke break camped in a safe corner of the world and came back to that message myself. I too have never modded the game or anything...I shut the game down to desktop and restarted and everythings been find since.
I too have not bought the DLC

It worked, thought it didn't but then looking closely saw I accidentally typed .btd instead of .bdt the 1st time. Adding a .bhd file seems to be unnecessary, works with just the DLC.bdt

I still get that activity detected popup and i own the dlc. It is a rather new issue too.

Seems like it happens if you try to connect to someone who doesn't have it, or maybe verifying integrity of game files fixes it if you do have it?
