Midir: music/atmosphere/lore
Bayle: moveset/visuals
This was difficult to pick because I like both bosses a lot when it comes to these components. Now overall I like Bayle more just because I'm primarily a gameplay guy when it to soulslikes and bayle's gameplay is better imo. You might be surprised by me rating midir's atmosphere higher but I really like how depressing it is when you think about it. In combination with his lore and him flailing around like a wild animal to try to swat you like a fly. He comes of super desperate and I always feel bad for ending him (he was tricked by Gwyn in to thinking he's doing something good by eating the abbys which makes it even worse). The music complements this even more. I know everyones going to hate me for this but I usually don't like Yuka Kitamura as much as everyone else, but I really like her work on midir's theme. It's a combination of OMG I'm fighting a mountain sized dragon and tragic strings. Oh and don't get me wrong, bayle's atmosphere is goated too with his insane spectical and his in your face presence while he's thundering through the arena. As you can tell I'm a really big midir fan boy and it pains me to put him under Bayle but it's just such a good fight😭
Anyways, what are your thoughts?
I felt like I was running around after his head more than actually fighting him
love that guy lol
Midir was mid.
I remember hating having to chase her around. That always felt tedious. Getting her to stay still was irksome.
At least Bayle wants to get up close and personal.
I think bale is better honestly, way cooler visuals, harder, funny npc, cool lore, plus I think it helps that I was actually here for the dlc hype since i started souls back when sekiro released. but yeah, bayle is definitely harder, maybe not more fun? but i've done a sl1 playthrough on ds3 so I think i'm probably over midir
