Midir vs BAYLE
Which did you like more?

I thought the bayle fight was perfect other than head hits. Midir always used to lower his head for a hit after he whiffs his combo. Bayle is rarely that considerate, so I have to hit his belly, leg, stump or tail.

I would say

Midir: music/atmosphere/lore

Bayle: moveset/visuals

This was difficult to pick because I like both bosses a lot when it comes to these components. Now overall I like Bayle more just because I'm primarily a gameplay guy when it to soulslikes and bayle's gameplay is better imo. You might be surprised by me rating midir's atmosphere higher but I really like how depressing it is when you think about it. In combination with his lore and him flailing around like a wild animal to try to swat you like a fly. He comes of super desperate and I always feel bad for ending him (he was tricked by Gwyn in to thinking he's doing something good by eating the abbys which makes it even worse). The music complements this even more. I know everyones going to hate me for this but I usually don't like Yuka Kitamura as much as everyone else, but I really like her work on midir's theme. It's a combination of OMG I'm fighting a mountain sized dragon and tragic strings. Oh and don't get me wrong, bayle's atmosphere is goated too with his insane spectical and his in your face presence while he's thundering through the arena. As you can tell I'm a really big midir fan boy and it pains me to put him under Bayle but it's just such a good fight😭

Anyways, what are your thoughts?

Bayle, mostly because of Igon's speech. I almost never summon NPCs but I liked Igon's voice acting so much I just had to.

Midir is way harder. I beat Bayle at probably 5/4 or so with Igon and a mimic fairly quick by hitting behind his injured leg.

I really don't like Bayle
I felt like I was running around after his head more than actually fighting him

Honestly didn't really like the Bayle fight, if it wasn't for Igon's epic moby ♥♥♥♥ speech I'd of never even bothered trying to beat him.

Bayle.

Midir was mid.

Midir to me is the much harder boss for some reason. Bayle was really easy, beat him in two attempts.

Bayle's visuals with Igon screaming in the background more than takes the cake for me.

I've never liked Midir. That being said, if I went back now, I'd probably have no problem with her. I always hated the size of her HP bar but I now realise I just didn't properly buff or prepare to fight her, and always ran in thinking I'd just wing it.

I remember hating having to chase her around. That always felt tedious. Getting her to stay still was irksome.

At least Bayle wants to get up close and personal.

I think bale is better honestly, way cooler visuals, harder, funny npc, cool lore, plus I think it helps that I was actually here for the dlc hype since i started souls back when sekiro released. but yeah, bayle is definitely harder, maybe not more fun? but i've done a sl1 playthrough on ds3 so I think i'm probably over midir

Midir is a bit of a big chunk of HP with attacks that hit way too hard but aren't that hard to dodge. It's not poorly designed, but it's a bit tedious. Bayle is an amazing fight even if the constant switching between lock on and lock-off was a little annoying.

Nothing against mimic but if you're gonna use it then obviously it will trivialize the boss.
