Explain NG+ to me
You don't have to explore the map anymore, since there's nothing new.

Everything up to Capital, and arguably after, is zero challenge since you're outscaling them even with RL125 and maxed out weapons.

So most of the time is spent either running, or fighting a boss that you easily kill. The only difference is the ending.

You have to spend multiple hours doing mind numbing running, or fighting bosses that dont stand a chance, to have fun with less than 10 bosses that are challenging enough.

Even DLC is a joke since you start with maxed out blessing.

Can someone explain wheres the fun you're having while doing it?

You get more ancient stones to max weapons. You stomp instead of getting stomped which is fun for a lot of people. Numbers go up.. also fun for a lot of people.

You dont need to collect every bell bearing, you have all the maps.. all the locations discovered.. no running around finding seeds or the stuff you want for your builds. You can instantly go where you want .. fighting everything you want without having to collect items. Which is fun for some people.

You need like a couple of minutes riding on torrent to get to the capital. Some people may even say that looking at the world is fun because it's beautiful.

I dunno where you get the multiple hours part from tho. The world isn't that big and since you are so OP no boss takes longer than 20 seconds until you are like at the fire giant.

I'd assume that the first NG would be fun enough, since you actually get to play through the game with a completed build, instead of only playing the last 5% because one of the items you needed you only get in the very last section. And also any builds that want two one-per-run items.

And then maybe the final NGs, because you're taking on the hardest the game has to offer.

But anything between those, I don't get either. I'm personally one for starting a new character instead of entering NG.

Back in the older souls titles, the NG+ ramp up was stronger from what I hear, while elden ring much like the base game is a slower ramp up giving the impression that you in fact are stronger.
I'm not one for NG+ to be perfectly honest. Challenge for challenge sake when nothing new is added equipment or story/lore wise does nothing for me, so I rarely do it. Originally NG+ was mostly for the challenge and more materials to upgrade stuff and another chance to find things you may of missed in your original run like things that are based off a choice like the npcs in the dlc or items you could miss like the magic scorpion sting trinket.

The NG+ is lacking sadly compared to some older titles that added new enemies. I was hoping they might have added a new harder NG+ for beating the DLC but it seems they didn't. As it is mostly you just replay it to get any quest stuff you missed or other endings. Being able to play it with any weapons is fun for some. If you want challenge you could just activate Taunters Tongue the whole way lol.

Yeah, I just don't see the point, In NG+ the base game will be braindead easy all the way until Haligtree. And your build is already complete, so what are you even playing for.

I always make new characters, but I suppose some people (the very casual crowd) just enjoy the power fantasy of 3 shotting every boss?

hmm in a nuttshell
1. bosses have more HP and give more runes (so does this affect all normal mobs to balance the rune need out to level up)
2. bosses are because of the higher health pool in general stronger, they do more damage aswell.
3. you have the chance to get your favorite weapon a 2nd time so, you could go for examples for dual handed weapons, not really effective in my opinion but its lots of damage ö.ö am more the shield+one hand weapon fan oo
4. you get the ancient smithing dragon stones again, same with the somber ancient stones so, if you ever wanted to try a another weapon at its full strength, now you can which you couldnt before because those are finite and not infinite.
5. more larvar tears ö.ö ... uh you know, those rebirth things.

IN GENERAL:
is it technicly not needed to do more then one NG+ since you then have all the weapons you want twice. i mean if all this is "useless" for you, then dont do NG+? simple as that. but, if you want to try other builds and need the weapon for said buil on max but cant do it because theres anymore any ancient smithing or somber stone to find ... well ... then need you to do NG+ ^^.

Did you actually play NG+? 90% of bosses in the game fall over to maxed out standard non-cheese weapon without any challenge whatsoever so more health/damage is hardly noticable untill much later NG+++++++

This comes from a guy who loves the game : I agree with this post. I was very underwhelmed by the scaling. I wanted to start a completely new game with the gear I wanted, but it ended up just being super easy, and with no exploration.

uhm yes i did. are you a troll? what i wrote is the truth. every NG+ raises the health pool of everything etc. it doesnt matters if a boss dies in seconds until you reach ng+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ... fact is, the health pool goes up with every NG+ making the game effectively harder. even if it is "not" noticeable at the first ng+, it will be at the 2nd and 3rd because you are like "oh i rush through this ng+ because everything is dying super quick" then you dont level up etc. and end up underlevel´d in the next NG+

but ok, according to you have i not played NG+
like some peoples say here ... now believe i aswell that this is just troll bait and you trying to provoke reactions out of peoples which your "did you even played ng+" proves on its own ... aaand bye =w=.
there is almost no good reason, i played ng+1 to do some lore testing until i found out that data miners already combed the code, making me lose all hope of finding anything interesting.

---
oh well, should you have run out of larval tears and are not willing to use cheats to get more, then thatd be a good reason to enter ng+1

I wish they would go back to how Dark Souls 2 handled NG+, though I can understand why they didn't for such a large game like Elden Ring.

Still the best way to handle it, though.

A word of advice on rage bait: If you're gonna ask disingenuous quasi-questions, make them something that would be at least (believably) moderately difficult to deduce on your own.
