Can you ng+ the DLC by itself?
Or do you need to start the whole game over?

Nobody?

No. Ya gotta beat the main game

i start the dlc in ng+2 is that is what you ask

I also started the DLC on my NG+3 Save. Had ups and downs, but I'm getting through. Killed Mesmer with some help, but there's still more of the Shadow Realm to explore.

Although from what echo_ML says, the conditions to access the DLC involve going through Radahn & Mohg & touching the hand in Mohg's area. I haven't played a new fresh game yet, but are you saying you have to get an ending in first before accessing the DLC?

No, but you also do not need to beat the main game, so literally every answer so far is wrong. You just need to beat Radahn and Mogh, which you can technically do pretty early

That's what I thought.

Yes you can start DLC at NG+ without restarting

OP asked if it was possible to start the DLC at NG+, we answered "yes" and "yes" is correct, you can start the DLC at NG+ and any NG+ cycle but it is not "a requirement" if that is what you understood OP asked or that we answered it is required, it is not.

Unfortunately, if you want to replay the dlc in ng+ you'll have to go through the required parts of the base game again (beat Radahn and Mohg). Honestly, it's not a bad idea to maybe have a feature where you can just ng+ the dlc itself.

I think your reading comprehension is slightly lacking. OP is asking if they can start NG+ and just play the DLC in NG+, without having to do the work to get to the point in the game the game expects you to be at, and the answer is no.

....
Lol, "if" that is what OP is asking it is even silly if OP knows other from games but if OP dont know any other From game that could be something to think of (it did not even crossed my mind neither of the others that replied "yes" to OP question).
