You lost em chief, you have to back up your saves when you do things like this
Air Jun 29, 2024 @ 9:32am
you can't unless you had a back up folder of saves or you need to go into windows recovery and revert your pc to a state in the past that had those saves before over written. but you would lose the stuff you've done since then if you even have the option enabled

don't do this - rolling back usually only changes your windows configuration settings, not your personal files.

or steam cloud may have saved you

Pretty sure you have to choose not to touch personal files as these recovers are meant to save against viruses too which could hide there. but regardless good input.

Sadly, if no backups were made of the saves and Cloud Saves were not disabled before starting the game after loading the new save? Then the originals are gone.

you dont unless you have your old saves somewhere else so they are not over written.

it's some sort of library overwriting, when that happens, you should delete a file names "dinput8.dll" in your steam game folder which you can access through steam by going into your game's steam settings --> manage --> browse local files, and as I said, delete dinput8.dll and it should be fixed ;3

well, not sure how i might work, but sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't, fromsoft spaghetti code :D Also, having your character deleted is an opportunity to create a new one, and experience the game on a fresh save which is my favorite way of doing it

when you have cloud saves activatedd you can actually get ALL your safes restored. you just need to find the steam site that lets you download the safes. dont have the link right now but you can get them 100% back

this sound wrong and has nothing to do with saves. dinput8.dll has nothing to do with save files.

it is literally the save registration files, for example, when you're using a mod such as convergence or reforged, you can delete dinput8.dll to get back to your base game saves while using those mods ;3 it also works with save overwritings, i'm not confirming the results for the OP though, but at this point he doesn't have much to lose

if he has cloud saves activated he can restore every single save he ever uploaded automatically from the steam cloud service. if not, then he is screwed since mods like convergence and reforged actually have seperate save file systems that have a different location than the normal saves. basically the mod switches them out themselfes.

You should practice backing up your saves regularly. FS messes things up too.

yes, omfg that's the point of what i'm saying ER save manager does the same thing, that's how it stores multiple saves, if there indeed is a site for steam cloud saves then it's perfect
