After around 12 hs of pvp with all of these, I'll clarify that, no, LGS, specially Rellana's Twin blades, aren't really good, at all. Poor tracking, with some attacks having literally 0 tracking (just going straight in front of where your character is facing, and can't be aimed), extreme stamina consumtion (rivaling or worse than some colossal/great weapons), some broken hitboxes (attacks missing point blank pve and pvp on no lat), and overall super high skill cap on top of that. Also, no single attack, heavy, or charged/jumping heavy, will poise break by itself. Even straight sword does that with heavies, yes, even after the poise dmg nerfs in light weapons.
that's both an issue in PvP, but less so, also in PvE.
All boss weapons are amazing, or at least very good. Some are best in class, but for the wrong reasons (leading to near 1 shots/thousands and thousands of dmg both pve and pvp, or having literally broken interactions)
Dryleaf arts needs some serious work, again, both PvP and PvE, but it's laughable that only 2 attacks can stagger at all, and 1 of them is the R2. Also, the 2nd Dryleaf art's R2 is so much slower than the first version, it's worhtless in pvp, and it also won't give you enough hyper armor even at 100+ poise.
Then, throwable weapons, except for the Hammer and The shield, have absolutely abysmal range, tracking, and dmg, for their throwable attacks, but for some reason, by far, best in class-level scaling for their base, close quarters, attacks, overall beating the purpose of the gimmick. Some of their AR values are absolutely insane.
With bad tracking and range, I'm talking about the fact you can throw one of these to an enemy standing completely still, and completely miss. And even if you land a fully charged hit, it does not a bit less than an r1, but usually half of the dmg, which might sound good for balancing, but again, an entire action of a moveset, meaning, the entire Heavy attack button, being tied to subpar damage, is not the way to go. Make it 70% base dmg, it would be fair, it leaves you wide open, and takes some time to charge if you actually want to deal decent dmg, leaving you again vulnerable for retaliation.
Oh but the hammer absolutely F***s, and the Smithscript shield throw literally true-combos into any r1, and some r2 in PvP or with easily staggered enemies, and has absolutely insane tracking (literally will target you in a 360°).
Dlc weapons and spells/incantations are either ABSOLUTELY MONSTROUS, or mid to bottom tier broken garbage for no reason other than them probably over nerfing stuff before release for fear of backlash, which would make sense if we didn't have 4 or 5 spells
and weapons that literally trivialize the end boss and optional encounters, way to evidently to ever be ignored if playtested even a second.
Edit: why Rellana's is inferior to the other LGS? well, the ash of war, while flashy, is slower to activate, and attack (stance+input), than more than half of the game's movesets, most heavy attacks, and deals absurdly low dmg even in dedicated builds. Just use moonveil. The other LGS actually can change ashes, or have good ashes to begin with, and better damage, and a better moveset ( why the hell give as a shortsword off-hand L1...)
DLC weapons are fairer, and many are still good, but you can't press L2 to win, other than fighting dragons with the dragon weapons. I do appreciate to dlc weapons much more than base game, as base game had many busted, but few good weapons, like gugs, nagikiba/uchi.
what?! lol
