(DLC Spoilers) ... That's it?
Haven't had a Fromsoft entry (base game or otherwise) shatter my expectations with a final boss and then leave me completely let down with its "ending", until now that is. So many loose ends that it'd make a frayed carpet blush.

What about Godwyn, who Miquella was supposedly trying to properly revive since his soul was shrived clean out of him? There were two surrogate bodies for him in the shadow realm and there are military forces there in service to him, and yet nothing came of it.
What about Malenia, who liitle M has been crafting and researching remedies for since childhood? He didn't mention her once in his entire trail, nor did Saint Trina, or anyone else for that matter. Are he and his followers content to let her wait in half-mad slumber for eternity? Surely one of the Needle Knights could've dragged her sleeping corpse with them.
Who is Marika's "Grandmother"? Who are the shamans, why were they hunted down, tortured, jailed, and stuffed in pots? How did a young Marika escape this apparently complete genocide and rise to a position of power where she was chosen for godhood?
What in God's name is this supposed vow between Radahn and Miquella (and possibly Malenia)? Radahn gets to be consort to a god, in a similar hierarchy between Marika and Godfrey, sure, but what exactly was exchanged here by Radahn for the honor?
How exactly has Miquella plucked Radahn's soul out of the ether/Erdtree/my pocket (Remembrance)? Similarly, why didn't he do this for Godwyn, or use this to, I don't know, divide Malenia's soul from the Rot God's?
What is the Abyssal Serpent? How does it relate, if at all, to the God-Devouring Serpent? Is it dead with Messmer's slaying or does it live on as the GDS does inside Rykard?
Finally, and most importantly, why the hell couldn't we get a mending rune of Compassion from the ending? If a ♥♥♥♥-eating maniac can burp out a mending rune, then surely a proto-god with 3(???) arms and the ability to charm a gaggle of psychopaths into playing nice would leave one on his dissolution. If not a mending rune, because he wants to escape Order, then surely some Miquella-esque influence similar to Ranni's ending. Call it the Age of Gentle Gold or something, I don't know.

All we got was a 20 second cutscene that someone could've made in Blender, and literally two sentences that give no new information whatsoever. After every bit of lore being mostly tied up nicely in the base game (even the merchants are at least fully explained and fleshed out, even with their cut quest), I'm a little astounded by how empty this ending rings. Are they baiting future DLC? Did it need more time in the oven? Was a mountain of content (and thus story) cut from SotE? I am completely confused.

Yup, lots of unanswered questions and loose ends unfortunately. We don't even know what Marika's original sin was, and that was like the main thing in the trailer.

Hoping that there is still some stuff hidden in item descriptions that haven't been found or discussed yet.

The story is far too cryptic in the base game and the DLC. i know its part of FromSoftwares way of doing things but they could divulge a little and still maintain the obscurity.

As far as i understand, Godwyn's souls is gone forever and Ranni made sure of it. Malenia's job was to kill Radahn at the request of Miquella (Young lion armor piece has some lore about it), who wanted him to be his consort in order to create a new order, one where there would be no suffering or fighting. Radahn was a warrior and looked up to his father Radagon, who was still loyal to the Golden Order.
For some reason Miquella couldn't bewitch Radahn to become his consort on his own, so he instead bewitched Mohg, who's charmed body he later used to stuff Radahn's soul into thus finally getting Radahn to be on his side. Apparently Miquella left the Haligtree on his own to collect some allies before he was "kidnapped" by Mohg too

Dark Souls 2 gave us an entirely new ending with the dlc. I like it a lot better than the base game.

The amount of people who know of Aldia and the ending is a vast minority in the ER community
It's so funny going to new BB videos where people found Fromsoft with ER and are now going back lol

There's the thing about Mogh's body, too. It looks nothing like him. I'd have assumed NU-Radagon to at least carry some features of Mogh, like his horns or something. Miquella doesn't seem opposed to omen, so why bother making her consort this clean shaven dude man?

You can see the horns, but there are very few, mostly on the arms and legs in the cutscene.
Edit: my best guess is Miquella went through the trouble of cutting off most of the horns ? But that might just be reaching too far trying to justyfi it

That literally makes no sense, Miquella's Great Rune was destroyed as soon as he discarded "the last of his flesh" while in Elim and everyone broke free of his compulsion. This would obviously include Radahn and Mohg(if he was alive). And yet Radahn is still sitting outside of the Divine Gate protecting it from us the player.

It's more likely that Miquella and Radahn genuinely made a real promise in their youth with the following caveat; "IF Miquella can become a god, one to replace Marika and bring peace to the world, THEN Redahn will become his Elden Lord."

He isn't called "Enslaved Consort" or "Compelled Consort", he's called "PROMISED Consort"
Unless you mean to tell me that Miquella "promised himself he would make Redahn his consort" and somehow compelled a dead body, even though the compelling was broken on everyone at the same time and wasn't reapplied for any of them, then this theory is just bunk.

Radahn was proud of who he was and looked up to Radagon, WHY would he take the offer and if he indeed accepted Miquella's request why did Malenia battle him in the first place ? This is literally the description from a piece of Radahn 2.0 armor:

"The golden helm worn by Radahn in his younger years. Proudly displaying his heroic red hair, it is fitting attire for a lion. When Malenia, Blade of Miquella, let the rotflower blossom in Aeonia, Radahn heard a murmur in his ear— "Miquella awaits thee, O promised consort.""

Why is Miquella able to charm US after discarding everything too ? You get grabbed twice and the text doesn't say "you died" but rather "heart stolen"
