Convoluted/obtuse side quest progression again. Really FROM?
I was playing the DLC without seeing any videos, or checking the wiki. Just discovering stuff on my own. Now i reached a point where i really wanted to know how to get Leda's armor and sword. So i check the wiki to see her questline and for my lack of surprise, it's a F mess.

"Talk to this NPC before talking to this one, but talk with this one first after getting item X"
"Reload the game or teleport to a grace to make the NPC advance his dialogue"
"If this NPC isn't there anymore, it means you skipped part of his questline and now only in NG+"

Seriously, F this bull****. The devs really want you to go through 100+ hours again to get a piece of gear just because they THINK this side quest design/progression system makes sense for a game like this? No, it doesn't. Characters not even leaving a hint saying where they will be is just asinine and obnoxious.
Having to do very specific actions and not missing certain hidden/obscure NPC flags in a open world game is just bad design, plain and simple.
I really do hope FROM improves in this aspect in their new projects. No, i don't want the game to give me all the information or a giant pin/mark on the map to progress a side quest, but we really need more hints and better orientation in FROM's questlines/side quests.

I mean, the world doesn't revolve around the player character, why should the NPCs keep us appraised of what they're doing, when we're not actively working together?

But you must have known that's what you were getting. No one could possibly be buying games in this series for the well designed quests, and why would they randomly change now. The thing that makes the least sense is your expectations.

Leda? I only help her kill the Hornsent, and got her stuff just before the last boss.
I got Moore's Armor and weapon and Dane's Kicks too (his armor is somewhere else behind a waterfall)
Beating the game also netted me Freja Armor and Weapon.
Thioller and Ansiboch where the only ones I didn't get.

1. it is what it is. the story is supposed to be vague and cryptic. yet, without reading any wiki, I was able to discover and complete most of sidequests on my first try.
missed content only motivates me to come back to the game later.
2. you don't need any piece of gear from quests to beat the game. everything you need, you get as starting equipment.
3. consider assassin's creed series, you might like it.
