Hornsent not invading

I helped hornsent to fight Leda at Shadow Keep and did not summon him in the Messmer. I accidentally rested at the grace before talking to him after the fight so he disappeared but I found him back at his old spot north of Three-Path Cross Site of Grace saying the same lines he wouldve if I talked to him after Messmer. I continued on but he never invaded me before the boss fight with Romina, Saint of the Bud. Does anyone know why?

I think some of the npc quests are bugged at the moment.

I think I might have found out why. I seen this on IGN Hornsent questline guide; "You can miss this interaction by heading to the Ancient Ruins of Rauh before fighting Messmer". I found a teleport early in the game that took me to the Ancient Ruins, so that might be why. But idk if thats the actual reason.

I used that too, but he still invaded at the stairs before you reach the boss door area. But i did summon him during the fight with messmer.

Did you exhaust his dialogue in Messmer's room after the boss fight?

As far as I know, you gotta summon him for the Messmer fight in order for him to invade, otherwise he'll become part of the gank-squad fight instead. Could be wrong ofc.

CAN CONFIRM. If he doesnt invade you by the church of the bud but you did summon him for messmer, you forgot to talk to him in messmers room. GOOD NEWS he is back in his secondary spot just outside the Rellana fight, exhaust his dialogue there then go back to the stairs outside of the church of the bud and he will invade!

I ♥♥♥♥♥♥ have no words how bad this questdesign is. Its so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ frustrating.
