Report a translation problem
If you acquire an ash of war by having it dropped on a weapon by another player or slt, you can NOT duplicate it.
Duplication is only possible for ash of wars acquired the intended way.
EDIT: Unless you mean save scumming of course.
Good to know, I guess this is the end for this post.
It does matter how you acquired it. If you got it exclusively through a player trade, it simply won't show up in the duplication window at Blacksmith Hewg. You can't duplicate it, if it isn't selectable.
If you pick ashes up, bring them to Hewg and duplicate them, that means that you have acquired at least one copy the intended way. Be it from those scarabs, as quest rewards or whatever.
Despite having the ash, I cannot dupe it at blacksmith.
