The Vigor soft cap is stupid
From 59 to 60, the HP increase is around 13. From 60 to 61, it drops to a paltry 6. I go from 1900 HP to 1906 HP. From 60 to 80, I only gain around 100 HP. Freakin' mangy dogs have more HP than me. This is completely ridiculous. At this point, they should rebalance the scaling so we can have 3000 HP at 80 Vigor.

Every random mook and mobs have way, way more HP than the player. A lot of regular enemies have 3, 4, or even 5K HP.

99 is like 2100 hp. That's why my level 300+ characters all stop at 80 vigor max. It's essentially pointless unless your character can max out all stats at that point, which still makes anything high than 80 borderline useless.

yeah, but you can heal whereas they don't, you have an advantage don't you think, eh?

That is because the game expects the player to "take care and react" not just to "face tank everything".

I believe if From did not do this cap to VIG they would just increase a lot the damage enemies deal to the player, making it worst in terms of defenses and making it worst overall.
It is donee this way as a balance feature, to dont screw with enemies attack damage neither with player defensive stats.

There are some enemies that can heal, it's just not the most common thing.

Also I agree that Vigor should be re-balanced since my Mages always end up with the same amount of health as my Warriors. As otherwise the game is a slog for me to get through. Maybe it speaks to my skill level, that I somewhat suck at this game, but I will say I've beaten Demon Souis, Dark Souls 1-3, Bloodborne, and Sekiro yet I still can't figure out a way to reasonably survive Elden Ring without over-leveling the meta.

So I don't know... all I can say is that the way Vigor works in this game decreases build variety.

Go in PvP and see how fast you die if you don't roll out of attacks.
Now you've seen a POV of the mobs, you understand why they have more HP than a player, because players have a much higher dps (and can avoid damage and can regain HP).
Also, scadutree blessings easily bring even light weapons to 1000+ damage (hand of Malenia with 70 dex is at 1300 damage on my character without buffs, waterfowl dance skill deals more than 8000 damage...).

I can only guess how much damage my 2 Golden Halberds with 1300 damage each can deal with jump attack and jump attack talisman if all blessings are used...

Game is mainly balanced around PvP. If everyone could have 3000 HP without buffs, PvP fights would be long and dull, specially 1v3 invasions. Also, devs would probably buff bosses to keep them challenging.
Okay sure, let's give the players more HP and also make it so that the enemies can use up to 14 crimson flasks to restore a total of 11,340 health. Also they can roll to get iframes and if their health gets low they'll just constantly spam rolls away from you to try to heal. Then things'll be more fair.

PvP balance is separate from PvE balance on this game, if they needed HP to be reduced/increased for PvP they would simply apply a damage multiplicator in PvP, there's no need to balance the HP around PvP when equipment has a different stat sheet in it, HP are balanced around PvE, and PvE enemy HP are balanced around expected player dps.

Try the new hp boost talisman.
