How do you choose armor ?
Are armor stats important (besides weight) or is just a fashion thing ? I'm asking this since I'm trying to make a build in which I have no idea how to do

I don't chose armor, armor chooses me. Cleanrot knight set is, for me, the best looking armor that is also useful in terms of protection. Are there better ones? Yes, but not many.

Poise > looks >>>>>>> everything else

Stats are very important, can be the difference between being 1 shot and 3 shot. But there's many ways of buffing your character to the point where the protection added by armor isn't really necessary.

i'm using the death knight set, and have the sun realm shield with it, because they match.

The armor chooses you. Remain naked until one does.

45% drip 55% stats. I change my armor based on who I'm fighting, such as magic bosses or a dragon. Always keep it under heavy load but other than that just make sure your damage mitigated percentage is at least like 20% or above. You can check this in the secondary menu when youre changing your armor.

Wretch starting armor is best.

Or something sexy and light.
If it has solid stats that's a bonus.

Soiled loin cloth is a better choice imo.

Is that in DLC?
If so looking forward to find it :-)

Armor means almost nothing, you can neglect it's effects, any average weight armor will be okay, the only thing matters is how it looks. So basically your armor have to give you basic protection and be low weight. The lower weight, the more weapons you can carry, more mobility you have and more versatile your character is. I prefere to not use helmets (or use band/lightweight hat), use some good looking chest armor with moderate protection and weight, same for hands and any good looking super low weight pants.

Mostly looks, like the Drake set with the beast claws is great.
But I swapped out for the Blackgaol Knight Set, with the Ancient Meteoric Ore Greatsword.
