Basically, everyone is using the same cheese. Use a great shield or become a streamer.
Parry his melee attacks. Most of them can be parried.
Crit him.
I beat him using holy damage, lol.
I was having a hard time with this boss and decided hes a "come back later" boss. Just like i did in the base game with some of them. So, I instead looked at the minimap and tried to decipher if there was any place in the last castle i was in that i forgot to check out. Turned out I had, and ended up in an entirely new open world section of the map and i ended up in eastern part.
This game more than any other game by this company allows for you to go back and find stuff to come back to the boss with.
Yes there is, so I'm sorry if that has now been spoilt for you.
I ended with Scadutree blessings +16 - was 15 when fighting radahn. When I respecced I went for golden braid talisman aswell, with fingerprint shield +24 and mogh spear +24 and mimic I've killed him in second attempt. Gross fight, never coming back to him unless he'll get some adjustments like more windows to punish his combos - he just almost never stops wiggling the noodles at the player ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Exactly man, thats exactly what I did, put this expansion behind and prolly will avoid it in the future (tho I really enjoyed fighting messmer, would love to come back to him but collecting scadutree blessings again discencourage me a lot - if however in ng+ i still have the same amount I had before I started new journey I will be definately coming back for couple of bosses). I love the base game, in DLC I enjoyed like 2-3 bossess...
I swapped to using Golden Parry, and put on talismans for holy/phys mitigation and crit benefits.
Took around an hour to mostly master his move set. Not sure how to dodge two of his attacks 'fully' but I could mitigate them enough to the point the fight was entirely surmountable.
If I go back at some point, I'll kill him with agility bleed build.
To be honest, not my favourite boss, but I found the parry approach a lot more rewarding and satisfying. Felt like I was trading attacks with him quite a bit. Not a fan, but he's not overtuned, especially not for the final of final bosses this game is ever going to have.
oh yeah, I am a dumb c.u.n.t and I didnt collect them... I definately ignored core mechanic of levelling up in the expansion, sure I did. Just like you didn't even bother to read a couple of comments in which I mentioned like 3 times that I was at +15 blessings.
