ELDEN RING

ELDEN RING

Ver estadísticas:
What happened to Colliseum etiquette?
I keep running into jerks that cheapshot me right out of spawn without any regard for buffs or even gesturing, and then make the rudest gestures possible after inevitably winning because I'm on the back foot after losing a chunk of my health to a cheap attack made while I'm trying to be nice.

Also, Fromsoft please nerf the Quick Slash ash of war, it's legitimately broken.

So not following a bunch of made up "rules" and/or unwritten "honor code" makes someone rude. Gotcha.
Greeting people that you meed or shaking hands in RL are not laws either, yet we all follow these agreed upon and unwritten rules. In PVP you play against another person, how hard can it be to do the same as in RL, you are still dealing with humans, just that you don't see them.
if you try to stop and talk to every stranger you meet on the street you're gonna be seen as rude. and the inverse is true in non city-like areas, neither is wrong.

social queues and regional differences aren't the same thing as making additional rules on top of the rules the video game already provides for you.

some people just want to play the game, not sit here and and "chat", its not rude of them to do so.

If it's that fast then you shouldn't have any trouble buffing without getting hit. But it sounds like a you problem. Also, I don't have any issues ignoring some code you've invented in your own head that you arrogantly expect everyone else to adhere to. Stop being a willow and get on with it.
The community built their own ideas of acting in more or less honorable manners when it came to a lot of pvp activities. I hate pvp in this series, but the mindset is a good one.
If you're unwilling to care, then you aren't really worth listening to, which is why I won't see it in the future.

This has been a thing since arena and duels were initially created - invasions have no rules, while dueling is more proper. Dueling even in REAL life was a far more formal way of fighting.

No.
Well than have you no right to complain.

This right here proves that you are part of the new waves of players that came in with Elden Ring.

If it's only a few seconds, you can wait until they finish buffing. Actually, why aren't you buffing yourself in the meantime? This game is built around buffs...
Probably because not every build is made with buffs in mind. Also lmao "just wait for your enemy to get an advantage, don't attack!". Terrible mindset. The fight has started. Be ready to be attacked.

False equivalence. Shaking someone's hand as part of a greeting =/= Not attacking in a PVP mode

There is nothing that hurts any build in the game...by buffing. If you see someone buffing, just freakin' buff yourself. Take advantage of that time. All you're doing is helping your build.

Like...what the ♥♥♥♥?

Hence why I said "a lot of pvp activities" and not "all pvp activities..." Thank you.

I'm taking advantage of that time by attacking them and not letting them get a leg-up. Also if they get their buff(s) off? Law of regression.

I am talking about respect and politeness in general, but keep pulling single things I say and build your argument around that, very mature.

Health is the most important resource in the game, and outside of faith builds, you can't get it back in duels, at all. No, not even with decreased efficacy like in invasions. Taking a free hit because someone dared to cast a buff is a lot bigger of a line-cross.

The "community" has never been in agreement, you seriously need to go and visit some old forum boards and snap yourself out of that self delusion. Love the salty threat of blocking me by the way.. Yep, I'm absolutely gutted that I'm going to miss out on even more rivetting pew pewing about how your build is so weak it can't work without buffs lol

what is respectful to one can be seen as rude to another, you can say expecting someone to act exactly in the manner you want them to is rude for wasting their time.

I prefer doing jolly co-op, but still need to keep my skills sharp to protect the host from invaders
