Family Share 180 Day Ban?
So I was playing Elden Ring on my main account (this is another account) and forgot to go offline when playing mods with my friends, so I got banned on my main account before the DLC dropped. I found a work around being making another account and family sharing which let me go online. So I deleted the game and redownloaded so that there would not be any modded files or tampering and would have a fresh game ready for the DLC. Today I logged in and got hit with the 180 ban account. Is there anyway to fix this? or someone to contact? It's not a big deal but I would have loved to play with my friends again, if there is nothing I can do (other than make more family accounts) then it's okay I'm just seeing if theres anything to do. (thankfully I already beat the DLC too so going online is not as important however PVP would have been dope to do)

Thanks in advance!

I also have a Family Share Group with a few friends. 2 of us own the game, and other friend uses my others friend license with his own account, and got banned just like u did, just because he used the others copy got banned too. I told him to write an email to bandai/fromsoft support 2 days ago and he got no response yet. So we'll see how this goes and if it has a fix or not, because if someone in the family share gets banned and u dont even know i dont think its fair. Cause in this case i was helping this friend that wanted to play in some areas of the game and now i cant because they banned him because of my other friend ban and license.

Thanks for letting me know! If you hear anything back from support let me know, I would absolutely love to know if anything can be done :)

I can tell you from personal experience that family sharing this game means you share the same fates. if the main account that owns it gets banned or penalized any account sharing with that main will also get hit, this is not a mistake so contacting them will not help.

I guess this was a way to combat people being banned then trying to ban evade by making a new account.

So yes, be careful who you share the game with. In your case, however. making a new account will also get each one of them banned, untill you buy a brand new copy for that account.

Thanks for the reply i really appreciate the answer, I don't know how much experience you have with this so I don't know if you have the answer but do you know if the 180 day ban is shared between accounts? so if my main account gets unbanned will this one too at the same time? or is it different depending on the days we received the ban?

How did you make your new account "DLC ready", after your main got banned? Reason, curiosity.

Pretty sure that is separate, but the problem is that even if the 180 runs outs on that account, it will just reapply if the main still has it.

honestly, it's not worth it. if you're going to alt account this game, just be entirely offline, or don't bother if you're going to be doing shady stuff or heavily modding the game.

Family share shares teh main account ban now. There is nothing you can do short of buy the game again on a whole new account.

If you want to try you can plead your case to Bandai Support, but they will likely close your account as they said a few years ago when ER released everything will be automated and they will not be intervening.

I had a friend who used their high leveled character to help and this account isn't on any new game plus its just the first run so we sped through the game pretty quick

ya the only downside is no pvp, (which im lowkey missing) but its not the end of the world, I'll just wait the 180 days and do a fresh install of the game so theres no mods at all. kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥ there isn't much you can do but i understand completely. Next time I play mods wit my friends i'm definitely goin offline

ya i'm starting to just accept the fact that its there, i'm not gonna cop another copy of the game but ill just wait the 180 days to pvp again, apparently seamless co-op is coming out soon so me n my homies can play together again minus the pvp but its something at least

is it really based on the save file? so i need to reinstall the game and delete every character through each account? cause before i started the DLC on this account it was a brand new character and everything then i got hit with the 180 dan penalty

every effected account has to delete every savefile too, a ban flag also the savefile as manipulated.
basically if you get a 180 days ban your savefile got useless too and will trigger a new ban after 180 days.
to punish ppl that try to familyshare the game from a banned account they got hit by the same punishment.

interesting okay, so if I delete all my savefiles on all my accounts and start a new save then should I be okay to play? i won't get another 180 day ban after?
