Do I have to summon ThiollIer and Ansbach for the final boss?

I want to get their armor from their questline, but I don't know if it's required or not like Lucatiel's quest in DS2. The fight is much easier without them because the HP isn't bloated.

No, their corpses appear with loot after the fight regardless.

TBH I wish they werent so weak, it'd make the fight more interesting and it'd make sense that they are helping you fight to the death.
Now it just seems like they died from nothing.

I only summoned Ansbach because thiolllier is absolutely useless in that fight since all he does is throw poison and attempt to put the boss to sleep 🥲 Ansbach at least deals bleed damage and fire occasionally to the boss and knows how to dodge away with his scythe so he made for a good distraction once in awhile (if you buff him with healing regen and attack damage before the battle he will last the whole time if you’re able to trade aggro back and forth for survivability)

Wait, so they drop their armor there regardless of whether you summon them or not?
I have doubts for Thollier, since I killed him in my playthrough. >.<

You may have to reload the world to do this however, as their bodies weren't preset at first when I finished it, either sitting at a grace, teleporting out and back in, or just reloading the game entirely. That did it for me.

Anyways I am on my second DLC run. Gonna try it.
