Fix for "inappropriate activity" forcing offline on Steam Deck
If you are playing on a Steam Deck (or maybe other devices as well?) and get that error message and can't go online, there is a simple fix. I found it from a reddit post by a user called honeydew.

Go to desktop mode, go to the game's folder. In the Game subfolder, and make an empty file named "DLC.bdt"

More details:

Go to Home/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/ELDEN RING/game

In the dolphin file browser there is an option to create an empty file. Use that, and just name it exactly as "DLC.bdt" - that will fill the issue and you will be online again. If you haven't yet enabled view hidden files in dolphin do so, then you'll see everything.

Why From hasn't yet fixed this I don't know.

I also got terrible performance. I was just using my steam deck in bed to upgrade a weapon and it was jittery, that was never the case before the latest update. They need to issue a real fix for the steam deck, there are some real issues.

HOW TO FIX "INAPPROPRIATE ACTIVITY" JUST RESTART YOUR GAME IT IS THAT SIMPLE.
DO NOT REMOVE A FILE OR CREATE A FILE BECAUSE YOU "CAN" SCREW UP YOUR GAME!.

So just delete the 15GB DLC file and replace it with an empty one, and the DLC is gonna keep working? So why did they make everyone download 15GB then? Is that legal?

The OP should have mentioned this fix is intended for people who DON'T have the dlc. It worked for me after Update 1.12.

Probably, those without the DLC who still have problems after trying this will need to verify their game files, repair Easy Anti Cheat and/or try the other fixes suggested on this forum.

This is dumb, why did this work?!

I even did like, full nuking of the prefixes and game files and that didn't work.

It has helped several people. If it didn't work for you, I'm sorry. There are other possible causes if you search 'inappropriate activity detected' on the forum. Some of the fixes involve removing EAC completely, registry editing, Powershell, putting EAC back etc.. Too complicated to explain in a couple of sentences.

Good luck!

Actually my game was previously installed on ssd but now was installed on a SD card so there was some confusion. If it’s in SD card the file should be added there. After adding the file it is now fixed
