Should I level up past 150?
Back in the old days I remember 150 being the ideal level where everyone would stop so everyone could Pvp fairly right outside Pontiff's boss arena. I don't like the pvp in this game nearly as much as I did in DS3 so I won't be doing much of it if any. So basically should I keep leveling up? Is there any reason to stop?

I did the whole dlc at 150 and beat the last boss at erdtree level 14. It's not impossible or anything. The most important thing are the fragments. Level doesn't matter than much tbh outside of having a complete build

I dunno.. I've been going under the assumption that rl-200 was the new meta.

There's no reason to stop, including for PvP honestly. Sure, there might be marginally more people matching at that level, but I've always found plenty at pretty much every level. It might be slightly more difficult to find co-opers if you're not using a password, but that's basically it.

There are advantages to leveling past 150 for pve in the dlc.
People have been massivly underestimating the endurance stat.New bosses tear through your stamina fast.

worst case i´d go a bit higher to max out vigor if the dlc makes u problems otherwise 150 seems fine

Naturally, if you don't really plan to PvP

overleveling feels like cheese

i'm wrestling with this. i get so stuck in the mindset that i seen to scrimp and save and level that when i start getting around 150 it feels different. the game is easy enough anyway and i don't need it, but i've got all this momentum from feeling like i *do* need to level for 150 levels that stopping feels bad

it's just a personal issue, but it changes the game for me, whether i choose to keep leveling and feel like i steamroll the game, or choose to stop and feel weird about stacking up useless souls
seems like half the player base is traditional 125 advocates while the other half finished base elden ring at around 150 and argued that the much higher soft-caps justifies the extra 25 levels.
Lots of casual PVPers are now levelling to 137 to be able to match with both groups, which is also great for PVE as you can co-op the endgame of NG and the early/midgame areas of NG+ around that level.

I'd just keep going, if you care about PVP I think it's actually faster to find matches if you're a high level.
If you want a PVP character in a specific bracket it gives you a good reason to play the game on a new character

In DLC it won t make a difference cause they scale to your level as i understand it, but higher levels means you can change different weapons without having to respec.

I always stop at 150 even for PVE. I feel like things get meaningless in higher levels. Limitation is fun.

and how did you come to understand this? did some boogeyman whisper it in your ear?
