Cant deny the awesome atmosphere it has though.

Plus its mean to be an stealth section at the end of the day.

Nothing wrong with that gimmick tbh. But the place is empty. thats just lazy af

I'm just mad the entire place is populated by rats and that one elephant enemy type you see literally everywhere

Fromsoft, you had like literally the perfect opportunity to re-introduce the madness merchants from that one area in the sewers, why the ♥♥♥♥ didn't you? Did you think I wanted to fight MORE madness rats???

I agree that the location could have been much smaller and more intricate. Outside of a few zones where stealth is necessary, it mostly just had mad rates and a lot of space to not find anything fun. The dungeon in the woods was worth it though. Great design and great boss.

Iono. It was over pretty quick. When I couldn't use torrent, I thought it was going to take forever, but you seem to move across the map really fast there. I think it might be smaller and it just messes with the "size" on the map as part of the madness theme.

I liked the horror-esque jumpscare guys, though. "We'll see just how much 'fighting is an impossibility' they really ar- oh god fighting is an impossibility fighting is an impossibility!"

I had really high hopes when I first got to the place. It was creepy af, and the madness lanterns were cool.

But then I couldn't use my horse because he was "too scared." And then there were mostly rats. And then there was literally nothing at all tucked away in any corners of the unreasonably large area.

Potential wasted, big time. Same with the finger ruins which also comprise a sizeable portion of the map.

A lot of areas in this dlc could be much smaller as they are mostly empty. Finger ruins for example. Why are they so massive if the only relevant thing is the tiny bell in the center?

First time I saw them on the map I thought it was a huge boss arena or something. Imagine how disappointed I was when I reached them.

It's an experiment. It didn't work that well, but that's fine. I like the change.

Also the watchers are actually killable. You have to parry them exactly as they swing their canes at you for the leech attack, then they'll become vulnerable. One drops a talisman.

Ubisoft actually makes pretty good open worlds

I liked the abyssal woods. And like that other dude said, I liked the payoff of the dungeon it had.

But the finger ruins? I gotta agree there. That place was super desolate as heck. I saw all the bloodstains by the horn and thought there was gonna be some cool boss fight, but I guess it was just people dying to the Morays (or whatever)? There's even a cave to the south where it looks like they might of been working on a dungeon and ran out of time or something. Very cool looking at first from a distance, but man was it disappointing to get there.

*you attract attention of 1 thinking you're ready to parry it*
The enemy in question:
*teleports behind you*

Since I just noticed you mentioning: there are actually a couple of cookbooks squirreled away, they're pretty easy to miss. And one NPC invader, who gives you a unique weapon.

Cookbooks are useless to me since I've quite literally never engaged with this game's pointless crafting system lol. But you're right about the NPC guy. I forgot about him, probably because I killed him in like 5 seconds and moved on

This was my fav area atmospherically. Can't use torrent, apparently there's an enemy you can't fight, all the animals are giving you the evil eye.

they are objectively good games, never understood the mob hate, they definitely look like masterpieces compared to this dlc world
