82 Intelligence, 60 Casting Speed, 300 FP Sorcerer Rates New Spells
First of all these are the optimal specs for an intelligence based spell caster and how you get there is up to you.

Increasingly people are saying spell casters don't work in the dlc, because they try to cast comet azure, or meteor rain like it base game content and bosses will just stand there.

No the new game plan is more is better with that out of the way these are the new spell rankings for the dlc.

Int Sorcery:

1. Fleeting Microcosm - at max casting speed it's guaranteed to have multiple instances of this spell procing at the same time, which makes it a DLC boss melter, on the level of duel wielding two colossal weapons in a strength build. Real game bending stuff.

2. Gravitational Missile - if Microcosm is the boss killer gravity is the new mob killer. Shoot it into a crowd of 6 enemies and watch them all get hard CC'd and knocked down. You can basically just watch it happen and laugh.

3. Renalas Twin Moons - basically fire storm for Sorcerers and should be used the same way. Long animation long commitment, big self aoe dmg potential. Frost storm is still there if you want something with a faster casting time, but you don't get the hard knock downs.

4. Miriams Vanishing - excels at I framing through attacks that have lingering hitboxes, or multiple instances of dmg which is very common in Elden Ring. Oh no waterfowl dance, teleport backwards 3 times GG.

5. Blades of Stone - This is your charge sorcery of choice which is the opposite of the CS build I'm running. For your time investment standing still you get 3 procs of dmg and poise break, very solid.

6. Glintstone nails - if you're running full finger gear you can move this spells up higher, because it's basically your comet replacement with better tracking.

7. Glintblade Trio - it's the only ranged sorcery bread and butter that falls under the Glint blade school and gets buffed by the glint blade staff. So you run this along with your more traditional phalanx spells but you can spam it.

8. Cherishing fingers - this is bad don't use this...see I can admit not every spell lands but the majority do.

Death sorceries:

1. rings of spectral light - death sorcerers got a bread and butter, that's nice they needed just a normal projectile to shoot at people

2. vortex of putrescence - its death sorcery firestorm, once again that's a very nice piece of tech to have.

3. mass of putrescence - its death sorcery cannon of hama, which is a very underrated spell from the base game that scales well, and so does this one.

Faith Sorceries:

1. Impenetrable thorns - thorn staff builds from mountaintop of the giants needed just more stuff to cast, now you got your wish.

2. Mantle of thorns - gets a pass as a legacy Dark Souls throw back, and its about as good here as it was there, which is to say not at all.

So overall assuming you are all full experienced caster in Elden Ring and have beat the dlc using the best spells the expansion has to offer, then this ranking should be accurate to you as a max cast speed build.

Assuming you're a godfreys icon guy and you've mostly gotten by with charge spells so far, you'll find less utility here, you'll also find less being alive in the dlc in general but I didn't say that.

It's worth mentioning that 60 casting speed refers to 60 dex casting speed. The most optimal way to get there is 20 dex, plus 40 virtual dex from in game effects. So radagons icon is one example.

Aight, this is useful. You missed Glintstone Nail though.

Yeah I kinda skipped it because it's just finger pebble.

Low FP cost, so presumably you could use it to kill small targets and save mana while exploring.

Twin moons seems not worth the incredibly long start up and limited AoE range

I don't think Glintstone nails has better tracking than comet and misses more on near targets. Don't seem worth using.

it's a great choice for targets which are not immune to the knock up. It's similar to firestorm, without RNG.

The problem isn't that they gave new OP tools is that people will refuse to try themselves to see how OP they are.

I might be wrong, but doesn't casting speed cap at 70 DEX and Radagon's Icon alone would provide 30 virtual DEX towards that?

I'm surprised you didn't bring up that FP regen trinket. Been using that on my Str/dex build, it's just so useful.

I can give you my specs in order of leveling priority.

55 vigor (high piority- use trinket 60)
72 intell (high priority-use tear 82)
15 strength (low priority, use trinket 20)
15 dexterity (low priority, use trinket 20)
45 end (low priority use trinket 50)
50 mind (high priority)

Gear:

I have two staffs I use:

Charge spells - you use moon staff with Godfrey icon

Max speed - you use azurs staff with normal spell buff trinket

Weapons:

Up to you, even something like the great Katana (Odachi infused with magic)

With a brass shield for guard counters in pve is very flexible.

At level 190 you can have full spell casting potential, use most of the weapons in the game, and wear a full set of 100 poise armor.

I dont know if that is considered OP but it is pretty decent as a endgame set up.
