Malenia in 2024 help...

If I can't beat her in 2024 at 150 even with Mimy at my side trying to go all out is it over for me? Have I lost the game? Should I skip the DLC?

I don't do dodges and mechanics and I normally shield up so how are old non-Zoomers meant to beat her?

Given she pretty much has the Ebony Blade from Skyrim I'm toast right? I tried to use the magma greatsword and bloodhound and can sometimes get to Phase 2 but its joever once Mimy dies.

Save Mimic for phase 2 once you've made it to safety after she uses her scarlet aeonia at the start, from there on don't play too defensively, trade aggro with it to keep it alive and keep her from healing off it.
Additionally, if you're not fast rolling you basically have to. Tanking isn't going to help you unless you have a dedicated build for it, mid rolling will not clear the distance on anything unless you're playing frame perfectly the whole time.
You pretty much can't win this fight until RNG decides you can unless you're extremely autistic.

Mallenia is a type of boss that teach you how to perfectly dodge the attack since her attack has lifesteal property in it, just focus on stagger her to death and dodge the ash of war and you should do just fine

I used Red Maine Knight to peg her with great arrows and stun her. Just summon him at the start of the fight and run to meet her or she will target him. If you can keep her away from him and interested in you she will get knocked to the ground a LOT. Even after she transforms he will stun her.

Do you have a great shield build?

I finally realized that you can use the fingerprint shield to bludgeon her out of phase 1.

And if you have mimic, that's more than I had lol and you can save it for phase 2.

I was stuck on her for like 10 in-game hours. Good luck!

She's going to heal a lot in the fight, but she's also stunnable as hell, so it eventually evens out.

I don't recommend using a shield for malenia, since she'll just keep regenerating hp... What works for me is using either lion's claw or giant hunt AoW for massive stagger. Literally takes no skill and the only thing you have to watch out is waterfowl dance.

Just respec to faith and use blasphemous blade, summon mimic and keep her in the middle. Move behind and wait for her to target mimic then jump slam her... spam r1 , move back and repeat. Use Blade skill to recover health.
2nd phase just stay back and time your L2 skill. Might take a few tries but your merc will survive once you get a good volley going.

Learn to fight her without the mimic in phase 1. Any companions just end up feeding her blood sucking ability. Get her to phase 2 and then try using an ash summon.

Beyond that, you just gotta learn her patterns.

As a shield player, have you played Sekiro? Try parrying her with the buckler. Melania and in the DLC Rellana are about controlling the fight. Own the fight.

Thanks man I didn't even know about the blade heal and that it hits hard. I was down bad these last few days... now a Phase 1 god for that blade. 33% into Phase 2. You are the winner so far cheers. You and waterfall backstep dude that is. I had no idea she was this hard thought it was just a meme.

I think I may have the most deaths against Melania ever on the internet... 80+ hrs worth of attempts at lev 150. For anyone else who is a non-roll shield bro really struggling and is stubborn about learning evades the following finally worked for me:

Left hand weapons: Golden great shield NO ASH (man this is important lol), blasph blade (GIVE this to mimic on entry)
Right hand weapons: mohg's spear right, hoslow whip with ice step, normal whip with ice (GIVE this to mimic on entry)

TWO whips in RIGHT sounds insane but it keeps mimic alive given he won't use the blasph blade heal if whip in his right out-dpses the blasph blade in his left. So you use hoslow and he uses the lowbie whip. I found he will cast the blade heal a lot more with an opening if he goes down to 50%, but not if weapon in his right is way better for dps.

Phase 1 mimic whips away and heals with blade while you S&B / cast mohg's crazy aoe using the spear.

Phase 2 forget mohg's spear its too slow go crazy with hoslow whip.

Mimic will be near full health right way through.

If you refuse to learn waterfowl lol like me and still not beat Melania this is the way. 80 hrs of deaths...

Now I'm going to spend my 480000 runes and look at my sweet achieve badge.
