The second I read that he had discarded his love, I knew he was not "kind" like everyone was saying he was. I had always suspected that he was not as good as everyone claimed he was, mind control is not the kind of powers that the good and kind use. Once I read that, I was 100% certain.
He truly was a child of Marika. And the embodiment of the adage: "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions."
Radahn was in on it lol, at least in my interpretation. It seems like Miquella used a charming spell and Mogh and most of the other characters but he made a VOW with Radahn which I think implies consent from both parties idk
This makes no real sense
Why did Miquella sent Malenia to kill Radahn if Radahn was actually in on the plan ?
It makes much more sense Miquella sent Malenia cause he could not get Radahn as long as he lived since he was the only one with strong enough willpower to resist.
Also dont forgett Radahn was a strong defender of the Golden Order and therefore unlikley to agree to Miquellas plans to overthrow it
I don’t think it’s a plot hole. The secret rite scroll in shadows keep says, “a Lord will usher in a God’s return, and the Lord’s soul will require a vessel.” Radahn was a proud warrior. He would want to die in battle. Malenia was in on the deal between miquella and Radahn, as she whispered in his ear, “Miquella awaits thee, O promised consort.” She obviously thought the scarlet rot would kill him, but it didn’t, and it’s not like she could just go back and finish him off, as she too was severely wounded from the battle. The scarlet rot was also killing him slowly, so she didn’t have to do anything other than to wait for Miquella to return a god and heal her. (This next part is purely speculation) I think that there is a potential that the Radahn Festival could’ve secretly organized by Miquella through his charm. Again, purely speculation.
So to sum it up quickly,
Miquella and Radahn made a vow to each other so that 1. Miquella could use the gate Marika used to become a god. And 2. Give Radahn the title of Lord (makes sense for him as he’s a big Godfrey fan). Radahn has to die so that his soul goes to the Realm of Shadow, and Mohg is the vessel because he’s the only one left whose body is intact. (Ranni’s body is at a tower, Rykard is a snake guy, Godrick glued a bunch of arms to himself, Morgott died in Godfrey’s hands, and Malenia is rot stricken.)
Plus considering Mohg left a copy of himself to stop intruders from reaching the Frenzied Flame which also has a seal from Morgott as a last resort, implies the two were on good terms.
I would consider Miquella a fool above all else, cause he essentially turned himself into a monster incapable of real emotion.
I think the best example of this is Malenia herself, its clear Miquella went out of his way to try to heal her, and deeply cared for her, but after casting away everything he was, he essentially left her to rot alongside the Haligtree and its residents that he originally intended to save.
Mogh had horns, proof of his descendence from true nobility, thus giving him a realistic claim, which would also pacify the hornsent, seeing one of their own, the original owners of the lands between to be back in power, as opposed to Marika and her brood which stem from across the sea.
Miquella wants to rectify the crooked order of Marika, undo the original sin and bring a true order, one filled with compassion. One should also note the similarities between Godfrey's and promised consort Rahdan's fight. In Godfrey's case, his nature becomes decidedly more brutal and savage when Serosh is removed from him, thus it can be assumed, that Rahdan WITH spirit Miquella holding him back would actually make this symbol of war personified... more humane.
The longer I think about the DLC's final boss, the more sense it seems to make, but I have to admit I was surprised by their choice for the final boss too.
Discarding his love was probably a real mistake, then again, he discarded it after removing doubt and vacillation, meaning the very concept of making mistakes was removed from his conception.
His order would have been a horrible dystopia, absolute order under the threat of war for no reason, not to help the weak, not to enrich the powerful, simply order for order's sake. Like passion without love :/
