Games like this deserves Review Bombing
Before you explode with anger, wait and let me explain, try to know my "criticism pattern".

I understand that many criticisms are stupid, or even monkish. Of people who have practically never touched this genre of games. However, many of them are right. Games like Elden Ring are too difficult.
You can ignore the artificial difficulty and the bugs/gameplay that we've been carrying around for a century now.
The main problem is that not everyone can enjoy games like this, even if they would like to.
It would be enough to add the choice of difficulty to make everyone happy. Those who want to play against God himself can do so as well as those who prefer to have fun and "fool around" enjoying the level design and intricate plot that these types of chapters have.

Paradoxically, Respawn got there first with its Star Wars. I don't want to compare the two IPs with each other, mine is just an example of how optional difficulties and Souls Like gameplay can coexist.

Unfortunately the only way to make From Software (which I consider the GameFreak of Pokemon) understand this is through our money and reviews, a bit like what happened with Helldivers and Sony.

Before I get labeled a troll, I have the physical game on Xbox Series X, here's why you won't find it in my Steam account

But that is like... already possible?

From what I understand, Miyazaki made these games for himself. He even said it AGAIN in a recent interview, that he is "close" to making his ideal fantasy game. So, there you have it, mystery solved. Dude is making games for himself, that a publisher happens to like and put out there.

Perfect, then explain to me what the problem would be in adding the choice of difficulty to make everyone happy. Not only would it not take anything away from you good/veterans, but it would allow you to reach a wider audience of players, even the skill issued ones

It's not review bombing if you have actual critism. Review bombing is when the factor of the review is unrelated to the game
current negative opinions stem from bad game design with multiple things to do with the DLC, so it's not a review bomb, just criticism

Good. They have other games to play. It is impossible for a game to cater to every single human being out there.

I, for one, don't like FIFA games. Does that mean that they should change the core-aspect of those games just to cater to me? Hell no. I just stay away from those games and play games that do cater to me.

It's as simple as that. The game itself gives you countless items to make your own "easy mode". You have spirit ashes, you can summon other people, you have TONS of weapons at your disposal, you can go around and level your character etc etc etc.

They give you all the tools you need so that even a toddler could beat it. People just dont want to use these tools cause that'd make them look "weak" or whatever.

Fromsoft is never going to add difficulty options to their game and frankly, I hope they make their games even more ruthless in the future.

There's already an easy mode. It's called summoning and magic. These games are however easy or hard you want them to be. Traditional difficulty settings would ruin the intended design for these games.

The conversation of a difficulty slider has been talked about since Demon Souls, I think its remarkable that From can make games like these and still be successful, goes to show how supportive their fanbase has been since DS. Also why is it wrong that this game doesn't try to cater to the largest audience? inevitably they'd lose a lot of die hard fans by doing so. Not every game need to be for everyone, personally I think a lot of these game's magic would be lost if they were easier.

Because that is the main attraction of souls-likes.
Overcoming a challenge.
That's how it all started and that's what made these games blow up.
Elden Ring is already the easiest souls-like FromSoft has made so far thanks to all the tools at your disposal that can render the game trivial.

There is no need for a difficulty option. It's already in the game.

As someone whose very first Souls game was Elden Ring, I'm against adding difficulty choices for the game.

Many other people likely have or will say this, but simply using Summon Ashes during a fight can make those fights vastly easier. If you're not as comfortable with the flow of combat especially with a boss, a Summon can help quite a bit.

A strong part of the appeal for this game is overcoming adversity and difficulty. While I grant that not all players would enjoy the game as presented, I don't think that's a bad thing. A game can be good (or even great) within its genre - but it does not follow that the genre therefore has to be more broad.

Making something more broadly appealing and accessible also, by consequence, will reduce and thin out the points that make its as good as it is.

Are there flaws with Elden Ring and its DLC? Sure, everything has flaws - but those flaws would not be addressed or reduced by adding difficulty choices.

You can make game as easy as you like by using summons and ashes.

not everyone needs to play everything, when you try to please everyone you end up pleasing nobody, the game already has a difficulty slider in the form of summons
