Seamless coop isn't out for the game yet, the latest patch prob set them back a bit too. Mods online will ban you.
Just give the game a try vanilla

1) Seamless co-op uses the steam multiplayer server code, bypasses EAC, and uses a password that you all have to set in a config file. It is online, but it does not ever contact From's servers. It even uses its own launcher, and you can have it installed and switch between vanilla and seamless just by launching through steam, or their launcher. Currently, the version of Seamless that is downloadable only works on versions up to 1.10.2. If you've updated for the DLC, you'll have to wait until they release the newest version of seamless to use it (earliest is the end of the week accord to a post made by the developer in their official discord). I would also highly recommend you wait until the new version comes out anyway, because scaling will be customizable (unless you don't mind +100% scaling PER PLAYER... I.E. solo = 1:1 with vanilla solo, but the instant someone connects to you or you summon an NPC, the enemies now have 200% stats, including poise and status resistances... despite stating in multiple places that the scaling was similar to vanilla it 100% is not, myself and others have tested it thoroughly, and anyone claiming otherwise is either lying, or quoting a very old post from before it was changed).

2) if you're doing anything where you're seeing other peoples messages, ghosts, summon signs, etc. you are connected to From's servers. Using any mod that modifies any game files can get you banned. There are people who claim there's a way to unlock the FPS and play online, but I haven't seen anything I'd trust with my account.
