You need to go from the front door, enter the castle from where the giant guards.

I am going there from Storehouse First Floor Grace point passing a bridge with Fire guy and militias, then twinblade knight with bow.

You can't reach him from the backside twice, go through the front gate of the castle to enter the fog.

From the open map, just go straight to the castle, where fire-giant thingy is guarding, behind it there is a camp of Messmer's soldiers and behind them is the main gate, go there.

If you beat Rellana, just follow the road from one castle to another. Go North(maybe a little North East)basically.

Yeah got it. I didn't go through that knight camp and giant fire golem. I guess I reached Messmers from some other path.
