Can someone explain boss resistances too me ?
I heard that even when a boss is resistance to a element it's better to still build your certain element weapon on that element instead of using another element on it.

Like I have a fire weapon that has 200 more damage with fire than when I would use sacred on it

Against something like I don't know messmer, would be pure fire and 200 more fire damage still be better than sacred and 200 less sacred damage ?

Are you talking about Greases? Like Fire Grease? As long as your regular weapon isnt infused with certain damage type (cold/poison etc.) you can use greases or magic/incantation armaments. Thing is that Greases gives you flat DMG increase for example (im guessing number) fire grease gives you flat +85 fire damage and infusing weapon with magic armament (the magic spell not grease) gives your weapon magic damage with scales with your Int level. I'm not an expert tho. When it comes to Messmer we dont have exact stats i think yet but I think he is pretty resistant to Fire. Best status vs him is bleed and cold I would guess, holy im not sure about it

No I mean pure making my weapon fire art, there is a greatsword in the dlc that gets alooooot of fire damage with flame art, so it has like 1k damage with flame art but only like 800 with holy or something, so I was wondering if 1k against someone who has high fire resistance Is still better than 800 with holy

I mean you can infuse it with flame art, check numbers on boss, infuse with holy and check the numbers again :D That's the easiest way to see what is the best vs certain enemy. Gimme an update when u do it. Btw what greatsword?
don't worry about it. pick a favorite weapon that feels comfortable. approach the boss as more of a learning opportunity, and after a few rounds you will understand when to dodge and when to attack.

in the dlc you get tons of souls and smithing stones, so you can upgrade a few weapons. I'd recommend going with a few normal smithing weapons (one that slashes, one that pokes, one blunt maybe), and then you can customize the element thought the ash of wars. but this is overkill, unless you are running a pure holy weapon against a holy boss learning is way more important than some extra damage.

think of it this way, if you have a completely optimized build, that normally means you beat the boss in a few less attacks. so you still need to do like 40 attacks to kill the boss. with an unoptomized weapon thats maybe like 50, so taking the time to learn the boss will still be way more effective than spending all your time, larval tears, and runes trying to guess on a decent build for one random boss in a huge game

Split damage is weaker. Boss will have some flat armor to physical damage and element damage, then percentage armor still.

example. 600 pure physical damage can beat 700, 350 physical, 350 holy

the holy damage and phys will meet 2 sets of armor.
The physical and holy defense of boss.

Rather than choose that 700 that is holy and physical, I want this 600 physical only and Ill buff that to be even higher. Golden vow... attack talisman...physik....etc.
Since only one dmg type, only one armor gets in the way.

( wont always be the case, what if the boss had no holy armor,/ weakness? then split is better. But usually split isnt.)

If a boss is fire resistant, I will not pump more fire damage.... while you can buff like crazy and do average dmg, even high dmg if you stack enough dmg talisman and buff...

applying same set up to a better dmg type will be stronger.
