They really did just recycle two spells into two new inferior weapons and one new inferior spell. This kind of recycling puts Bethesda to shame.
Worse yet, we get no cool armor or visuals from the boss despite their being humanoid. I am so starved for REAL frenzy content that I'd have even settled for the dumb yellow tatters he wears, but can't even get that small of a handout.
The frenzy perfume bottles are not great in pvp and hey guess what? Frenzy is heavily tilted for being usable in pvp :(
Midra rewards really are the frenzies we endured along the way. Not even a ripped p yellow t-shirt for our troubles. (I am actually fuming if you guys can't tell. Thematically, frenzy has been my favorite thing in ER since the start, even in PvE where it's pathetic)
/rant
Boss himself was super fun tho
This was very little to me in the shadow of how much I wanted decent frenzy stuff this DLC.
In the wait since the announcement all I ever talked about with my friends was how much I wish they'd expand on the Frenzied Flame and 3 Fingers. It was criminal enough that they removed Kale's questline, this DLC's addition to Frenzy is a slap in the face.
Midra himself is amazing though. Hope there's enough lore for Vaati to cobble together, I'll eat that up.
I do agree, the devs could have done more. The hoops we had to jump through to even reach his area. I was hoping for consecrated snowfield/ haligtree vibes.
The devs did essentially turn the entire area into a dungeon. Since torrent is too scared to come out, we have to slog our way to his mansion, which wasn’t really a mansion. Really feels they missed a good opportunity with Midra’s whole area.
I'd have been more than happy if we got his headbutt dive or head as a helmet.
Now I just have to PRAY that the Lord of Frenzied Flame mod on the Nexus SOMEDAY becomes a simple replacer so I can use it online and feel halfway decent about myself despite no one else being able to see it.
Now imagine getting dude's head and STRUTTING around like he does in the boss fight while embers go spewing everywhere. That, THAT is what we should've been given. A transformation to be mummy frenzy man. I'm sure you all think I'm insane but I feel a profound sense of loss after waiting so long for this DLC, just to get sad recycle powers.
after reminding me of that i feel now very very sad
they gave frenzy the vanilla st. trina treatment with this DLC for sure
that's why, I'm sure, when we get to see again he's got his back to us and he's hunched forward to hide the lack of head.
