Incantations are for the people who really want to geek out over the exact right tool for the specific challenge ahead; you won't be using glintstone pebble or its big brothers throughout the game; you'll be using fire incantations against fire-weak foes, physical incantations (Dragonmaw and Stone of G are two very different but fun options) against foes with generally solid resistance, electricity against electric-weak foes, and so on. It's fiddly, and it's awesome, but it's not for people who don't want to geek out over this stuff.
Lightning spear is your good everyday attack incantation though; you're doing something right. Black flame should be your other regular workhorse; between the two of those you'll have most foes covered. Bosses will take more work.
not classic Paladin tho)
other than that you pretty much have to get to melenia to see a new power spike in your incantations, before that you kinda stick to pretty basic lightning and fire spells
they arent bad but they also missing the extra spice other builds can get much early on
1- u need to upgrade or seals as well, people have already recommended effective enchantments.
2- lvl 37 is a low lvl yet, i recommend you see some farm tutorials in Calid there are excellent places there to calmly get lvl 50+.
3- Don't forget your HP, so you don't take an tap and die, a good spot is always to take about 2~3 hits.
The Flame of Frenzy is pretty good against Margit if you get an opening, he's weak to fire and you'll hit with every single fireball if you're close enough.
(Both of these can be found in Weeping Peninsula)
If you don't wanna go for these I'd probably:
- buy the club from the merchant at the beach
- grab the Sacred Blade ash of war from Third Church of Marika near the Mistwoods and put it on the club (generally Sacred affinity gives more power but for Margit you want it to not change affinity)
- twohand the club, fire off a blessed blade, and then bonk Margit in the back a lot while the buff lasts
There's also a wandering knight miniboss at the back of Stormhill that drops the Sacred Oath ash of war (buff to all ATK and DEF), it'll make things easier (especially if you've got summons because they're also affected)
