Attributes question
Which attribute should I use? I'm doing quality but I'm using up too much souls so I'm thinking of going with heavy.

Which attribute do you use?

I dual Knights sword or claymore. If I do quality, should I do STR 60 and DEX 60?

If you're going to do Quality then 80/80 Str/Dex is what you'd want. 60/60 is the point where Quality generally overtakes 80 Str Heavy or 80 Dex Keen. For Greatswords, Keen is better than Heavy if you wanted to do 1 damage stat and dual wield and do physical damage.

I tried keen but heavy and quality does more damage.

Well, yeah, you have higher strength than dexterity you already said.

I mean having 1 damage stat. Like doing Heavy infusion means you're only damage stat is Strength. Quality goes evenly into Strength and Dexterity so it's 2 damage stats.

80 Dexterity with a Keen infusion with those weapons does more damage than 80 Strength with a Heavy infusion with those weapons. If you're not respecing then Heavy will always do more damage because you have significantly more Strength than Dexterity. Quality does outdamage both Keen or Heavy but it requires more stats.

99 is the absolute maximum but 80 is the realistic cap. Leveling any damage stat past 80 does virtually nothing.

How come Keen 80 DEX does more damage than heavy 80 STR? Is it because Keen has STR E and DEX B? While heavy is only STR B?

Depends on the weapon. Innate Heavy weapons benefit more from being infused as Heavy. My co-op toon has Heavy Hookclaws even though Hookclaws are DEX weapons. I went this route to make this toon as tanky as possible.

Those weapons do more damage on DEX, but originally STR is C and DEX is E.

It's weapon dependent. The weapons you said you were using have better Dexterity scaling with Keen than Strength scaling with Heavy.

How do you find out those weapons are DEX build?

The easiest way is to check the fextralife wiki. I wouldn't trust much subjective off that site, but hard numbers are usually accurate.

I plug them into this and test it.

I only tested the Knight's Greatsword before and not the Claymore. Claymore is slightly better with 80 Strength and Heavy infusion while Knight's Greatsword is slightly better with 80 Dexterity and Keen infusion.

Quality builds are possible and you will have a wide selection of weapons, just don’t expect much magic or ash of war use.

Heck my warrior character is a quality build at 40 vig, 50 end, and 50 in str and dex. Use the starscourger and two finger talismans to get to the str and dex soft caps of 55. Should be level 150 the “meta” for pvp and good enough for NG and even NG+.

How do you know which character I chose?

I can't find it there.
