115 crit only means that your doing a extra 15% DMG on a crit. This is separate from the Weapons type Crit modifier. Generally Smaller weapons get better modifiers, but this is a hidden stat. Ironicly, dual dmg type also do more DMG on crits due to Hard defence not reducing as much. This is also why SoNaF crits like a truck.
As for the Great Axe Vs Great Hammer:
-The G.Axes will do more DMG, they compete whit the Colossal class in sheer pain. The Executioners is considered one of the best ones, particularly for Block Counter Builds.
-The G.Hammers do indeed do more poise, but their DMG is not far behind. The amount of good ones & special effects on the infusable ones as well as Strike being rarely resisted while being a common vulnerability. Great Stars being a Bleeding all rounder that also heals on hit and you can grab 2 in a single play-through.
