the game IS discounted, if you buy the dlc pack.
though, I suppose that doesn't help, if someone just wants the base game.

apart from that, nobody but the people selling it know if/when Elden Ring will get a discount again.

I was also waiting for a sale on the main-game, but decided to get ER+DLC since the DLC is discounted right now; which I think offsets some of the discount you would hope to get on the main game... I don't think there'll be a discount on the main game pre-DLC launch.
