do enemies scale with you? (base game)
I roll with a double unga-bunga great stars hammers in both hands, and I reached Leyndell Capital. The very first enemy there, the white guys who toot the horns, survived a jump attack with like 1 hp (the HP bar was empty).

I figured: "oh well, I'm at +10, I'll just upgrade my weapon(s) once or twice and I'll one shot them"
So I did. I got one hammer from +10 to +14.
Came back, and... same result, maybe even less damage, cuz now there is a tiny spec of red left in the health bar.

So... either upgrading weapons makes them weaker, or there's some hidden scaling shenanigans afoot. My money is on the 2nd, though I don't remember reading about it anywhere.

Thats not how this game works at all. You're just trippin'

No, there is no scaling. Maybe you changed some buffs or something?

Nah, killed Malenia, Gideon, Godfrey and Radagon yesterday with friends to test our new Shadowlands toys. Same as always!

Enemy scaling is applied PER AREA, they don't scale with you.

OP, if you're barely surviving a bubble blast, you need to either up your VIG, wear more / better armor, or use a defense talisman. The bubble boys specifically deal holy damage with their bubbles and most tarnished don't have much natural defense against it.

Enemies (and you!) take bonus damage 1) if you hit them from behind, 2) if they're not aware of you, and 3) during attack animations or sprinting. This adds a bunch of randomness that can be hard to account for when trying to measure damage.

(also rainy weather / standing in water gives a bit of fire resistance but removes the same amount of lightning resistance)

I'm not sure how you understood the opposite, but no, it's not me that's in danger, but them. They barely do like 8% damage to me.

I don't use buffs, never have, and most likely never will.

I know this, and no, it's not the issue here. They were aware of me when I couldn't 1-shot them, but died in 1 hit when they weren't aware. Both before and after upgrading my weapon.

You could have landed a surprise attack or a counter hit before, which do more damage. Sounds more like you didn't test it properly.

there is no enemy scaling besides diferent areas, and going into new game cycles, which just bump their stats a little, you prob got surprise hit which deals more damage
